When I woke up in the morning at 6am I went to take a shower and could not get hot water. I let it run for about 10 minutes and it was not getting warmer. I even checked all the shower settings to make sure I was turning it in the right direction but no matter what I did, I could not get hot water. Then I turned it off, and turned on the hot water to the sink faucet. Even let that run for several minutes. Still no hot water. Now it’s almost 6:30 and I call downstairs to ask if there is something going on with the water. The gentleman who answered the call did not seem surprised at all to tell him that I could not get any hot water to my room, he just apologized and told he “would reset the boiler, but it’s going to take about 15-20 minutes to warm up.” I was immediately annoyed because now not only did I not get to take a shower before work, but there was no warning ever given that there was any issues with the water, or else I would have woken up earlier. I packed up and head down to the lobby to warm up with a cup of hot coffee. Yet when I get to the lobby, there was a station set up with Instant coffee crystals and a carafe of hot water because the “coffee machine was broken”. Yikes. I could not think of a worse way to start a day when traveling for work. Unusual and Very disappointing for a...
Read moreI stayed at the Brewster, NY Comfort Inn.
We checked in and the front desk guy was super. Pleasant, attentive, helpful.
Next AM, we got up and went to grab coffee. The woman who was supposed to be overseeing this was hiding in the back on her phone. There was huge puddle of coffee on the floor (within eye-sight of the worker), there were no plates in the breakfast space for food, and someone had knocked over the spoon all over the counter. I actually dug in the closet to find plates. I came back 20 minutes later for a coffee refill, and the coffee had been mopped up, but the breakfast nook was still in disarray (spoons covering the counter).
I was going to let the front desk know, but did not see anyone. Went to pack the car and saw the front desk person hunkered down behind the desk playing with her phone. She didn't look up and didn't acknowledge me.
So long winded way of saying that the staff in the AM was lacking in basic professional demeanor and service attitude i'd expect from a hospitality...
Read moreNot friendly at desk downhill from there Elevator smelled like cigarette smoke. I thought this was a non-smoking hotel that is what the sign said. Reached my room & the person across the room opened his door to look at me & said “ Oh Hi I heard a noise” ok that was weird. Room was freezing cold. I was able to turn the heat on. Got ready to go to an event in Carmel so got back to the room late that evening. This time when I got out of the elevator strong odor of pot. Got back to the room. In the am “wow” try to figure out how to turn on the shower. Yes there are directors in the B/R but that didn’t help much seems the shower bottom would not leave the shower on & the drain would not drain. Tub very slippery because the water would not drain. What the heck. I actually had to pull the drain up & hold it to drain the water out. Then went to check out no one was at the front desk I waited 10-15 min then finally just left the keys to the room behind the counter....
