Had a fantastic birthday dinner at Pitliks. The only downside was service was a bit slow. It seemed there may have only been one waitress on, but she was fantastic. Ran nonstop and did her best but we waited a long time for anyone to take our order and my second beer, my son's coffee was forgotten. We needed to flag down a busser for water, silverware, BUT we were asked on occasion if we were ok or needed anything. Overall, they really did their best and we could see how busy they were for amount of staff they had. Seemed bar had lots a bartenders but some were new and maybe foreign. I asked one what beer was on tap and he tried to read the taps and couldn't really read English. I live in northwoods and restaurants struggle to find adequate help. So we just relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful view and the lake breeze-we were able to open the window-and our lovely waitress Jan who was trying her best to get everyone served, and the sweet bussers who ran nonstop tried their best and we are patient so we didn't get upset with them. The food was amazing. We tried the combo appetizer and it was so much fun with different fried items like sweet potato fries and pickles and 3 different dipping sauces! That came out quickly, fried to perfection nice and crisp and piping hot! We were there on friday for fish fry. Our party had an Apple Salad-fresh greens, tasty dressing, we tried walleye, haddock and bluegill. All of our fish was fried golden, was crisp, delicious, arrived hot and our sides were very good. My mom ordered a bloody mary-a drink she's enjoyed as long as I remember-and said it was the best she's ever had! That's quite an endorsement! After dinner they brought me a beautiful sundae-a fresh brownie smothered in ice cream, chocolate sauce and whipped cream-with 4 spoons for sharing. We spent awhile outside afterwards taking in the view and Jan came out to check the picnic tables for debris and offered us after dinner drinks. It was a memorable birthday. Probably go if you aren't in a hurry and don't hassle the staff. They really worked hard despite being spread thin. Absolutely worth the time we spent!

Pitlik’s has a great game room for the kids. It was perfect for our 45-50 minute wait. There is a popcorn machine off the bar for a small snack while you wait as well. We had a round of drinks before dinner and I highly recommend the Bloody Mary. The quality of the food was good but not ā€œknock your socks offā€ quality. I ordered the fish tacos which were good but for dinner I would have expected 3 tacos (the plate only included 2 so I guess I should have asked. Luckily my nine year old didn’t finish his half slab of ribs. The ribs were good but some of them were over cooked a little too much for my liking. Overall service was timely and friendly. For a Northwoods restaurant like many with staffing issues, they did an amazing job. They served our 8 top timely.

What a charming spot! It was the perfect getaway tucked in a beautiful corner of northern Wisconsin. The food at the restaurant was amazing. They had a killer fish fry special with lots of options to choose from. The service from our server and bartenders were above and beyond. This place does a wonderful job of paying homage to its history while also providing a modern and cozy atmosphere that generations to come will appreciate. The cabins have been updated and contain all the things you need to enjoy some relaxation on the lake. I can’t wait to go back!šŸ˜

When the place we had stayed at previously closed, we scrambled to find another venue for our family summer vacation. A friend had told us about Pitlik's, so despite only being able to find one review, even though they've been in business for over 94 years, we decided to give it a try.||||We stayed in Lagoon, which is one of the smaller cabins. It's a two bedroom cabin with a queen bed in one room and two twin beds in the other room. The cabin seems well built and surprisingly has a lot of electrical outlets. We knew ahead of time that the cabin does not have air conditioning. Other than the two ceiling fans in the bedrooms, which worked quite well, there were no other fans. We really could have used an extra fan or two to try and pull cold air in or push hot air out on hot days. Our first day it was 85 in the cabin. Luckily a cold front came through and outside temperature dropped, however it took a long time with all the windows open before the indoor temperature finally fell to more comfortable temperatures. Despite the shortcomings, it was actually a good stay. There were no plumbing issues and there was plenty of hot water, almost too hot. While there is WiFi available in the main lodge it doesn't extend to the cabins and it's not very fast, but is good enough for email or downloading a newspaper. There is a 40" Samsung TV on top of the refrigerator, although it only gets 6 channels, half of which are home shopping. While we weren't able to stream anything due to the lack of WiFi, I was able to cast some movies to the TV that I had saved on my tablet. The selection of pots and pans was small, but adequate. There was also a small microwave, a toaster, and a Keurig.||||They only rent cabins by the week and they only rent pontoon boats by the week as well. As we only wanted a boat a few days and not for the full weel, we ended up renting a boat in Minocqua about a half hour away.||||Both the refrigerator in our cabin and our neighbors cabin (You and I) had problems on the first day. It took an incredibly long time for the fridge to reach the proper temperature after putting in our food from grocery shopping and it seemed to run almost all night. We also had puddles of water in the bottom of the fridge everyday. Our neighbors had similar issues but also had a problem that everything in their fridge froze. Management, which is only available in the evenings when the restaurant/bar is open, blamed it on too much being put in the fridge at the same time and the cabin's being hot. We also had a problem with both the smoke detectors having dead batteries. I reported it, but nothing was ever done about it during our stay. We also had a problem that the oven door falls off when you close the oven door, but as we didn't use the oven this wasn't really an issue. My wife also found out the hard way that the temperature in the shower is reversed and thought there was...

I was here on vacation with my family. We came in as a party of 6 adults, we knew they didn’t take reservations so we waited for 45-55 mins to be seated. We then got our table and drinks ordered our food, which we got 3 fish dinners and 3 pesto fettuccines. When the food came out we got the pastas first and when I tell you I have never seen chicken look like that in my life!! I was in the food industry for years as a manager and serve safe certified. The chicken was white and looks like they had just put it in the microwave and served it to us. When I am getting served pasta with grilled chicken I expect it to be grilled not thrown in the microwave. We tried telling our server what was wrong and that it was not her fault and we would like the pestos taken off the bill and we would paid for the fish and leave. A man ended up helping us and he was very rude threatening to call the cops saying we were ā€œdine and dashingā€. We ended up paying for all 6 dinners @ $150. They were very rude and the food was not safe to eat I feel as I would have gotten sick should I have ate the pesto fettuccine. Do not...
