Home away from home - A beautiful newly built cottage in the midst of nature with hosts who treat you like family!
If I could rate this place a 10 star I would. I came here with my family and fell in love with the property and the hosts. Both Monica and Joe make you feel like family, they are lovely people.
Property: The cottage is amazing and newly built. Every corner of this very comfortable property has been well thought of and beautifully decorated. It feels like a house and not a rental and exuberates a feeling of warmth and welcome. I was telling my husband how positive this place felt and he couldn't agree more. We were a group of 6 and were very comfortable. The amenities, appliances, furniture etc. were all there. The kitchen was fully equipped as well; we had got condiments, ketchup, coffee etc. but never had to use anything because everything was already provided. The bedrooms were very comfy and the bathrooms super clean with a Victorian touch. They even had a big Charboil BBQ at the back which we extensively used. Linen, sheets, towels were all fresh and the carpets clean. Overall, a beautiful clean living!
Location: The location is great for a nice quiet downtime in the midst of the mountains. There is a beautiful hike behind the cottage, a nice flat lush green ground for the kids and big fire pit to enjoy some company and drinks. The hosts also offered us boats to go out in the reservoir if we wished.
Hosts: Monica and Joe are great. Very genuine and down to earth. Made us feel comfortable the moment we arrived. We all enjoyed some wine together and shared many laughs.
Summary: Great place for the value. I have been to other places in Catskills but this place beats all of them for the value, price and hospitality. If you looking for a nice quiet location with friends and family this place is ideal. We are already looking forward to our next visit here and plan to bring our respective parents as well.
Lastly, they have a dog Duke, who is one of the smartest dogs I have seen. When we went hiking he literally was our guide. He would show us the way, walk infront of us to give directions, stop when we stopped for water, if we went the other way he would come back to get us and put us back on path!
Monica and Joe thank you! My family had a wonderful time at your property because of your hospitality. Great experiences are always remembered and this surely was...
Read moreWith the kids at summer camp, we were looking for a quiet place to unwind, read, study, rest and relax. Monica and Joe's gorgeous home in the Catskills was exactly what we sought and found. The porch is LOVELY offering morning and afternoon breezes. Our two small dogs loved playing fetch in the yards on either side of the house. We enjoyed that we could tire them out by tossing the balls out and forcing them to run up and down some hills to get the balls back to us. The dogs never wanted to be indoors - they absolutely loved running around and exploring.
The house was comfortable, fully stocked and it's clear that lots of love and pride went into restoring every feature. The appliances are amazing and high end. Everything was explained well in the welcome manual. We loved looking at the photos of the restoration work and the photos of the original families and the area.
Don't miss a good glance through the upstairs library! There are some amazing books to read and enjoy - what a treat!
Monica and Joe are attentive but never obtrusive. They were available and accommodating when we needed them and left us plenty of space to relax and feel completely at home. We loved meeting Duke when he wandered down for his occasional morning treat - so kind and gentle!
If you are considering this property, do not hesitate! We're looking forward to a return visit - may be during the Fall to...
