Mountain Rose Farm — Hotel in Town of Urbana

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this horseback riding farm, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. They were warm, friendly, and genuinely passionate about what they do, which made the entire experience feel even more special.

The trail ride itself was absolutely beautiful. We were taken on a scenic route that offered stunning views of nature all around us. Whether it was riding through peaceful wooded paths or open fields with wide, breathtaking views, every moment felt serene and refreshing. It was the perfect way to disconnect and enjoy the outdoors.

The horses were well cared for and gentle, making the ride enjoyable even for beginners. Our guide was amazing—knowledgeable, kind, and always checking to make sure everyone felt comfortable and safe throughout the journey. Their calm and positive attitude helped make the experience relaxing and fun.

A hidden gem! Spectacular farm and land, very well maintained animals. This is NOT the typical junky income producing machined-horse trail ride you would find in the poconos with questionable care for the horses… Mountain Rose Farm was by far the best trail ride I’ve ever seen or been on - horses are very healthy and well cared for, operation was organized and flawless. Communication was spot on from the time of reservation through later after we were done. Saddles, reigns, helmets were all clean and comfortable. Rachel and Emily are spectacular guides, taking time to individually show my young kids (and us adults) how to control our horse and made sure we were comfortable before we started. We paused midway to take a group photo, and they later sent the photos by text. I would only suggest that if you have stiff muscles, def stretch before you go! Wow, what an awesome experience for my entire family. Highly recommended. Rachel and the team were so understanding with us, especially with my sister and my brother in law, both visiting from Athens Greece, spoke no English and never went horseback riding. Rachel and her team were outstanding. Five stars are way too few to honor them where they deserve twenty. Definitely we will go back. From the moment we arrived we were surrounded with care and attention and felt extremely safe. Just a look around and you will realize right away that the entire team have so much love and care for the horses and their beautiful place. They take so much pride.
