Owl Ridge Cabin — Hotel in Town of Wausau

Owl Ridge Cabin in Wausau: The best thing about this luxury cabin is the setting! It is surrounded by woods on all sides, and in the fall it is absolutely spectacular! Even on a rainy day, visitors feel like they are outdoors.

The cabin itself is high-end gorgeous as well. The shower/steam bath is the nicest I've seen. The bathtub is nice and there is a view of the woods while you soak! The mint soaps/shampoos/conditioners are soothing and smell great.

We cooked in for all breakfasts and one dinner. The kitchen is small but very well stocked. Everything we needed was there. The owners even provide salt, pepper, a few spices, and coffee. The whole feel was that of luxury and coziness.

We liked the king bed so much that we plan to purchase sheets/comforter, etc. If you like the mugs and coasters (which we did), these are available for purchase as well. There are games and books in the cabin for those who want them.

This is by far the nicest "cabin" we've ever stayed at. Certainly nothing rustic about it. We recommend it for romance. No kids or extra guests allowed, so it's definitely all about just the two of you.

One other important note - the proprietor (who also owns Stewart Inn in downtown Wausau) responds to texts promptly and is easygoing and pleasant to talk to. They offer extra perks for purchase. One can ask for champagne to be chilling in the room, ask for availability of a private chef, etc. They strive to make your stay perfect.

This was our second visit (October of 2023). We highly recommend and plan to come back! The place is very popular so reserve way in advance.

The WIFI and satellite TV are a bit spotty, but this is a wooded getaway. Who needs TV when you have that...

We highly recommend the Owl Ridge Cabin experience! It was beyond our expectations of an exclusive getaway experience that was intended for relaxation. Check-in and check-out were seamless. The quality of the linens was amazing! The bed was super comfy. The home was cozy and warm and provided a great private experience in the woods. I was worried about all the windows, but the home is rather secluded. The trees and nature surrounding the home were beautiful. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking needs (pots, pans, utensils, etc). We took advantage of the add-on experiences with the Culinary Experience. Chef Travis was our FAVORITE experience of it all! The chef worked with me a few weeks prior to arrival and we planned a menu for the night. I was expecting it to be a selection of various items, but Travis worked with me to make it personable and tailored to what we wanted to have. I was blown away by that! When he came, it was an experience to remember, and the food was exceptional! He did all the prep, serving, and cleaning. The whole trip was a surprise for my husband, and it was something he loved. It was great to have this experience, and we are hoping to rebook in the future! The cabin also had some trails around the property and was a fun adventure! We also loved the bathroom as it felt like a spa! The robes were so soft, the steam shower was excellent, and the soaker tub was very relaxing. Highly recommend it for a couples getaway or even a personal escape. --What is great is that you are also close to the Wausau downtown, a maybe 15-minute drive. Being guests at the Stewart Inn B&B we knew of Owl Ridge Cabin while it was being constructed. We finally had some free time and the cabin was available. |The pictures and description are totally accurate! This cabin is the epitome of a”cabin” for any couple looking for a high-end, casual, retreat!|The huge windows make you feel one with the outdoors. We had hoped to see some wildlife…we were treated to watching a huge woodpecker flying through the woods and a squirrel scamper by. |The living room with a fireplace is so cozy. The soft faux cashmere blanket throw is a nice added touch!|The bathroom is one you don’t just use and then forget about…it’s a destination in itself! The soaking tub with a beautiful view of the woods calls for an hour soak! The steam shower is huge and certainly fits two people. The separate water closet with a Toto Washelet is something to try if this is a first for you! Another nice touch is to include bath salts for a tub soak and a heated towel rack!|The kitchen has everything you might need for making a sandwich to a full meal. Nice cookware and stone dinnerware. |The bedroom is like being in a huge movie theater with the forest being the feature film!
