This is In response to a past member of this site's inaccurate comments about Gravel Ponds Camp Ground on many review sites. We along with many many others throughly enjoy Gravel Ponds campground! We have made many new friends and have made many new memories over the years, as weekenders and now permanents! The false post this person has made defaming GP is ridiculous! Here are facts and not comments from someone who feel they were wronged because they were not allowed to come back after an altercation they were involved in.! NO ONE was trying to break into their camper! There were young kids who accidentally went to the wrong camper ( their camper was near to this one) It was dark and a holiday weekend where there were many many campers that weekend of the 4th! Many campers look the same to kids/adults and in the dark make it hard to tell sometimes. Condensed version is "Doug" started screaming at the children and using racial slurs and threatening the children. ( and Yes I was nearby) Also there were only 2 kids not 3! The office had to be called and yes the police got involved since the children were threatened with a firearm. They were allowed to stay that night because they were intoxicated. Also they WERE told they were not allowed back after that night not two months later. Gravel Ponds does have rules yes, but they are in place for everyones safety. There are families of all ages there (Not a "retirement" campground of old people LOL) TO "Doug" I am sorry you feel as though you need to defame Gravel Ponds over an incident brought on by yourself. I hope you have found another campground that suits your needs better, Good Luck and I hope you have fun at you next campground. To the other parties involved I don't personally know you all but I am sorry you and the kids had to endure this bad experience and hope you come back soon! I wanted to get out some facts about the incident as I was nearby and I do not want people getting the wrong idea about Gravel Ponds campground! Gravel Ponds is beautiful, friendly and fun! We and everyone there Love it there!!!!! Theres always some people who are never happy anywhere .. Thank you to Deanna,Katelyn and the whole GP staff for all you do!! Below is my previous post from when we were weekenders...Now we are permanent's ! Love Gravel Ponds! The staff and management are amazing! The whole Campground is the nicest, cleanest and beautiful campground we have ever been at.Restrooms and showers are spotless! They keep the whole campground looking great all the time! The Bedrock Pub and all the activities they have at the campground for all ages are so fun! Live music, Pool, jacuzzi, pickle ball courts beaches, dog park and much more! 🥰

🌿 Gravel Ponds: Our Slice of Paradise in Scottsville Nestled in the heart of Scottsville, NY, Gravel Ponds Campground is more than just a weekend getaway—it’s where our family found our happy place. After two years as permanent members, we still wake up excited to spend another day here. From the moment you arrive, the beauty of the grounds pulls you in. The water glistens like glass, the beaches are pristine, and the air carries that unmistakable scent of summer. Whether kayaking across the pond, casting a line, or just soaking up the sun, every moment feels like a memory in the making. But what truly sets Gravel Ponds apart is the people. Deanna, the manager, welcomes you like an old friend—her warmth is the heartbeat of the campground. Kaitlyn, the assistant manager, brings a cheerful energy and steady support that makes everything run smoothly. Together, they’ve created a space that feels like home. Picnic areas dot the landscape, perfect for lazy lunches and laughter-filled afternoons. The community vibe is strong—families chatting, kids playing, and everyone sharing the joy of being outdoors. It’s the kind of place where strangers become neighbors and weekends turn into traditions. Gravel Ponds isn’t just a campground. It’s where we unplug, unwind, and reconnect—with nature, with each other, and with ourselves

We have been members at Gravel Ponds for over 10 years. It is a scenic, safe, and family friendly campground with private gate access. The campground is clean and the grounds are well maintained by the staff. There is a well stocked store, an indoor hall for activities, an on-site bar and grill, and outdoor pavilions. There are free bands playing almost every weekend, and planned events for children and adults. My grandchildren enjoy the new pickle ball courts and pool, as well as the ponds for swimming and fishing. The July 4th weekend celebration is one big party with multiple bands, food trucks, family activities, caped off by an impressive fireworks display!

Evidently Gravel ponds campground can take your money and then cancel your membership without any reason

The past few summers we decided to become members of Gravel ponds campground Friendly people with a lot of family activities But the aggravation which was placed on us by management seemed unreasonable Last year they made us move our camper 3 times in 2 days after we were set up and leveled. As they decided they needed to make the sites smaller for the expected holiday rush weekend. We moved 3 times without a complaint but found it frustrating when we were crammed in but didn’t have anybody camping around us This year I had teenagers break into my camper on the 5th of July They were caught in the act One was guarding the front door Other was guarding the back door Third one went Inside They were the grandchildren. Of a seasonal member Our first move was we went to management who stayed there was nothing they could do as they were paid members to get into the camp The police were then called to file a complaint Chaos ensued when the father of these boys threatened mine and my friends life for wanting them removed from the park in front of gravel pond’s security Needless to say we all had a restless night wondering if they might try to return that night and act on there words We left camp the following day We were never notified until a month later when we discovered our pass no longer works And it took management until today 9-5 ( 2 months) to notify me that my membership was cancelled and no refund will be issued Tho Jack can’t tell me what we did that canceled our membership He stated cops were called So he can do it per rule 17 I would be very cautious if you plan on camping here And Lock your camper at all times They never addressed the problem Only made sure the victims don’t come back They Advised me to get a lawyer is my only recourse

To respond to Gravel ponds response Minors were 15 and looked like adults also We’re with an adult while they entered my camper Would like to add this adult hid out in the camper while the police were there and quietly snuck out and left when the police stepped away We never said they didn’t enter we said they were stopped upon entering Also I never raised my voice to anyone As family members kept yelling at me Management actually brought one on the golf cart to yell at me And then I had my life threatened by a adult In front of gravel ponds security I will ask management to call me again if you have any questions or would like to refund my membership money for the aggravation I endured As it took them two months to notify me And I was never explained why until reading...

in response to management, Yes unwelcomed guest did go into the camper, and no police report is on file for the "incident". I still stand that I am very disappointed with the way things were handled that day and going forward, not very professional in my option. Yes my friends were threated with their lived by the parent of the unwelcomed guest in front of GP security. Make that make sense... oh wait it was managements' son and his buddy who were security that day. The math isn't mathing. I stand firm on my 1 star, honestly I'd give you a 0 star for the ridiculous events that had occurred and the childish events that followed not to mention the lies that were told by management.

Very Disappointed in the way things were handled over the 4th of July weekend. I understand that it is a busy weekend. But you would think that you should feel safe while camping there. While everyone was at the pond someone tried to break into our friends camper and was caught red handed doing so by the campers next door, meanwhile the camper and the campers next door were threatened with his life and nothing was done to him because (he the person who tried to break in (minor)and the person who threatened (Adult) had wrist bands (per the security & Deanna) And on top of it no one told them that their membership was revoked until they tried to get in and their cards were deactivated. It took management 2 months to get in touch with the parties who membership was revoked AKA the who had the attempted break-in and life threaten. (victims) As well as, the campers that started all this garbage, has his privileges they were NOT revoked. I sure would like an explanation on this. But I have confidence because this is a negative review there will be no comment. One added note to this story the would-be burglars and the man who threatened were JUST GUEST of a permanent site member. Who were all left unattended. That sounds like a violation of Gravel Pond...
