Staying at Lake Frederick has been one of the highlights of my cadet career. I have visited this campground on four separate occasions in the last four years and every time I come back is even more memorable than the last. One of the biggest reasons for that is because of the kind caring and empathetic caretakers, Dan and Janet. They have made me and countless of my peers feel at home, even though most of us are miles away. They put in hours of work to make the campground look and feel clean, safe, and comfortable for students and families alike. The beach, open land, and cabins make for a perfect weekend getaway—and all for a price you can’t beat! I would recommend visiting this lovely hidden gem to anyone. This is the perfect place for a party, military families! It's beautiful! On the lake, the pavilions are perfect for big outings (such as I attended), the bathrooms are clean and accessible. There's a back-gate that should we marked WAY BETTER because people driving in from the back of the park DO NOT need to drive all the way around!!! (Not amusing if you do... the base is HUGE!) I'm sure there must be trails to hike and I know there are cabins to rent and campsites. If these are as nice as the pavilions -- and they likely are -- I suggest booking one! My family & I had an incredible week at Lake Fredrick! We booked cabins last minute when we arrived and we were pleasantly surprised by how incredible Lake Fredrick Recreational Area was. The grounds are meticiously maintained. Cabins are clean, grass is cut, beach is beautiful and clean. Everything exceeded expectations. We had a wonderful week with 18 family members staying in 2 cabins and we will definitely be back. Janet & Dan went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable.
