Be careful! It can get very very hot and there's no cell reception! And bring water!!! Tracy was 91°F but my truck was reading 103°F in the shade.

I found Pottery (or potter's) loop to be quite challenging but manageable for an experienced street bike rider first time dirt bike rider. All the other trails are much harder.

If you're experienced, you aren't reading my review to see if you should go or not. If you're new and wondering, avoid going alone. I have plenty of outdoor training that the worst i was going to have happen is a flat tire and a long walk back to my truck. There is no cell phone reception and 2-way can be spotting on the back side of a mountain. So having fellow riders that can get help in case of anything is a must for new riders. The trail was about 10min long or more at 10-15mph. Try walking that injured and no bike and it can be over 1hr.

If you're thinking about buying a bike and going here, go with the biggest small bike you can flat foot when stopped. I'm 5ft 7in and my 2025 CRF300L is a little tall. You can grow into a bigger bike. But if you can't handle a tall motorcycle like a bicycle, you'll struggle here and it won't be fun. Also, a 150cc or smaller will not have too much power giving you more control. Sure, there are times you need the power to climb. But i think the struggle of less power is better than the struggle of too much. Whiskey Throttle can cause you more problems than having to "flinstone" a smaller...

The facilities are very nice. Great picnic areas, clean restrooms, a nice store. The rangers were very friendly and helpful. But I hate to say that on my 2-wheeler (KX450) the terrain was not good. (For reference, I am a very experienced rider.) Almost everything is hard pack with rocks/gravel/dust on top. And much of the single track was a single rut the width of a tire, making it very difficult to maneuver without losing your balance. The only other option is to ride outside of the rut in the grass, which is no fun when you can’t see the terrain below the thick grass. There are many challenging hill climbs, but that’s not as fun because of the hard pack, IMO. My only other complaint is that all of the trails are two-way, making you preoccupied with what might be coming the other direction. That said, I think this would be a fun place for...

I have passed by this park many times. I have seen in used constantly. However, this particular occasion, I went to the park as a day user because friends of mine from out of state came by Class RV and towing their ATV's and motorcycles. I had a great time riding the trails, and the ATV track. What a great place to ride, learn and have fun. The weather on July 3rd was HOT with forecast of HOT cooling down to HOT. Yes, it was a HOT day.

I was very impressed with the Park Rangers, their personable professionalism as service. The frequency of patrol was comforting, not that it was required. The park itself is very rustic, however to have running water rest rooms in the camping areas was convenient. There are NO RV hook ups, or a dump station. Dirt, rock and gravel gives RUSTIC a whole new meaning. So, if you're soft,...

Picture with tree was taken from an overnight camp spot at the park. The best time to ride at Carnegie is a day or two after a light rain. The silty dirt can be quite dusty otherwise. Awesome hills to climb everywhere with green blue and black diamond trails, all of them in the hills. A fun practice track at the bottom. $5 for a day or $10 for overnight per vehicle. Awnings, picnic tables, fire pits with grates, and bathrooms. A small park store too. One downer is a busy road nearby with all night long car noise echoing off the hills. Bring EAR PLUGS!! There are usually strong afternoon & evening delta winds whipping through Carnegie during the warmer months, so consider extra rope to hold stuff down and warmer clothes for the nights. I've always had a good time at this OHV.

Carnegie is an exceptional recreational destination that boasts incredible dirt biking opportunities across its fantastic trails. Moreover, there's a dedicated off-road course tailored for trucks and SUVs. While the off-road pathways may not be extensive, they present a formidable challenge for your vehicle, filled with various obstacles that truly put its capabilities to the test. Although it may not compare to the vast off-roading expanses of Alaska or Colorado, it certainly promises an exhilarating experience. Overall, this is an outstanding spot for families and off-road enthusiasts alike. Entry for trucks and SUVs is just $5.00, and camping or RV facilities are available, along with other convenient amenities.
