The Shire of Montana — Hotel in Trout Creek

This experience was a total letdown. We made arrangements to visit a good month before we planned on visiting. My husband called and made sure everything would work out before we made the reservation, including making sure my small Service Dog would be welcome. He was assured it would not be a problem since she is a Service Dog. Two days before we were due to leave, we get a call. They were cancelling our reservation because the owner didn't want dogs of any kind there. 1. Such short notice, they should have followed through with their obligation that we could come. And everyone we've told about this fiasco agrees with us. 2. It's against Federal Law not to allow a Service Dog in any facility. 3. She is a small dog, 5 lbs., and is very well trained. 4. They do list dogs aren't allowed, BUT, nothing is mentioned about Service Dogs not being allowed. 5. Their lame excuse was too many people are allergic so they don't want them on the property. The ratio of pet owners to people allergic to animals is 90% to 10%. So that was a very poor excuse to not let us use the facility. 6. Because of the extreme short notice they gave us we had to spend the rest of the day scrambling to find something, so the first week of our vacation wouldn't be ruined. This was the best adventure I could have gone on! They have the cutest fairy and hobbit houses. We discovered this place from the main road and decided to take a detour. Best idea ever! A bit further down they had a barn with a beautiful art gallery inside and a picturesque pond with an island in the middle. On this little island is the Hogwarts Castle! Got kind of creeped out to be honest because i could hear creepy laughter upon inspection of the guest house!
