Really loved this park! Several sites have water/trail access. The sites are well-maintained and there is a new "bathhouse." The bathroom has nice stone floors, marble counters, fans, clean toilets, and half the stalls are showers. The walk to the bathroom and inside it have motion sensing/power saving lights.

Sites have a packed dirt/gravel tent pad and picnic table pad. They have 2 light poles, paved driveway, and stumps around the edge of the driveway. Sites are wooded. Most are pretty shady and

There is a walking trail that runs along the water's edge. It's easy to get to from the campground. The whole loop is maybe 5 miles with the opportunity to use the shortcut to cut it in half.

Camp hosts, visitor center, and rangers were all very nice. The only complaint I have is the raccoon in site 13 that ate...

It's a mixed bag. Depends on the experience you want. The hosts were wonderful. The grounds and buildings are fairly new and in good order. Water points are sparse, nice bathouses. If you stay here on a weekend then it will be LOUD. Boat motors and their captauns blasting out loud music. All day deep into the evening. And it might not be music you like. It was incessant. We also had issues with people trying to March through our campsite while we were trying to enjoy it. That was frequent. So unless you came to party avoid #12. #20 and 24 are away from the water and off foot traffic. Also there are windows in the male bathhouse. Open Them Please management!!! It's a sauna in there. Step out of the shower and into a sauna so you can gack up again...

Possibly the nicest campground bath house I've ever seen. Water fountain with bottle filler. Excellent grounds maintenance - very nice set-up and up-keep. Wheelchair-accessible cabin available w/accessible picnic table and campfire ring. The cabin we had was cozy and spacious. Beautiful nature and scenery, surrounded by waterfront sites on the outer ring. Tent pads and fire rings and level rv pull-in sites w/electric. Dump station, too. No camp store. Quiet area. AT&T service ok.

Be sure your cabin lock code email arrives in your inbox before the office closes (or you leave wifi service area), so you don't have to wake up the friendly camp host at...

We came to the area to go to the Emerald Hollow Mines, and thoroughly enjoyed our week here despite the first 3 days @ 97 degrees. The campground is well kept and the bath house was clean! No outhouses. The trail following the lake was nice, a little rougher then beginner lvl hiking but not difficult by any means. The beach area was nice and well kept and the water was clear. We saw several deer, always just off the side of the main road to the campsites in the park, so keep an eye out! Loved our time here and hope to return soon.
