Beautiful park and campground with ample camping sites. Water was available and close to our site, everything was clean and firewood was available for sale. Everyone including the staff were very friendly and helpful, staff frequently drove around cleaning and checking sites. I dropped a star for the bathrooms/showers though. They say on the doors they close for two hours a day for cleaning but the floors are nasty, there was dog hair all over the shower walls and floor, and several times the toilets were out of paper and paper and other items were all over the floors. The water in the showers was VERY hot though! 🥵

Campsites are a bit tight. They allow two tents on each site, but honestly there's not enough level space for two on most of the sites. We reserved the only family campsite and had plenty of room, but others looked cramped. That being said, the people running the site are super friendly and helpful. The lake and beach area are lots of fun, and renting a canoe or kayak and just spending the day on the water is an awesome way to relax. There was an evening lecture on moths that my son and his friend really enjoyed. I enjoyed the fire shown in the photo, time with friends, and listening to music out in the woods.

An hour out of St. Louis, we used the RV campground as a stopover to gain an early start to Gateway Arch National Park. For being close to the highway on the map, it’s tucked way back in the park on a tight forested winding road. No trouble navigating, but not what we expected. Parking was a bit challenging since the spots are straight back ins instead of angled with poles and neighbor trucks in close and inconvenient positions. Flush toilets, no showers.

4 years later still never came back because of the horror from this day. HIGHLY RECOMMEND St Francois State Park, Montauk State Park, Meramec State Park, anywhere but here. I've had no issues over the years sharing this horrible experience with every camper we meet on our camping excursions with our kids. And we pass this place without hesitation every time we are in Troy or winfield. I will never forget the lies and disgusting treatment by these employees and the owners who failed do their job and punished the wrong people leaving an impactful memory in innocent kids and disgusting accusations that I will never forgive.

Came with a huge group on 2 sites. First ones asleep, first ones out for the day. Renewed the campsite in our name saying we weren't the original reserver but we wanted to extend our trip with our kids since it's their 1st camping trip, I just lost my job 2 weeks ago and last weekend before school and my new job. They didnt take our ID or info down even though we said we weren't the original reserver. They let us go. We drive 2 hours to fugitive beach and come back 8 hours later to find all of our stuff gone. They got complaints because raccoons tried getting into the tent and my kids woke up screaming. I explained to the jack@$$ across the woods that my 4 and 5 years old got spooked and apologized. He kept mouthing and being ignorant. Me and my family went to bed. They supposedly have video and audio of someone having sex at our site... yet we were sleeping, sharing a tent with my kids so its sick and insulting to begin with. They refused to show us the recording, called the original renter and had them come pick our clothes, shoes, everything we had so we come back to empty site and soaked swimsuits with no way to go in anywhere because of the lack of cover up. The manager threatened to call the police after refusing to shake hands at introduction telling me I wasnt going to get upset and be loud enough for other people to hear what they were pulling. So they didnt do their jobs and put it in our name like they should have. They didn't call us instead called the other reserver from the night before who didnt have my number so they went and packed all of our belongings and had to take them. They threatened to tow the car we left behind. Refused to show the evidence they claimed they have. Ignorantly denied shaking my fiance's hand during introductions. Threatened to call the cops. And made obscene claims about me having loud and crazy sex with my fiance in the same tent as my children. THIS IS NOT FAMILY ORIENTED NOR PROFESSIONAL. I would NEVER...

Our first time at Cuivre River State Park Campgrounds was memorable! We have a travel trailer and stayed at site 100 (electric/water/sewer), which was an end site with wooded area on two sides of us. Campgrounds close to non-registered campers from 10pm-6am with a locked gate, accessible by key-pad to campers.||||The park is adequately maintained; not as clean/tidy as other SP we have stayed at. Quiet, family and pet friendly. Minimal traffic on roads through camp sites. Walkers, bikers, kids, etc. could enjoy without much worry. There are 13 hiking trails, with two of those accessible right from the full hook-up loop and just steps from site 100. Miles and miles to enjoy!||||Campground had kayak/canoe/paddle board rentals available at the check-in station/small general store, which was a short bike ride from site 100. Beach front on lake for seasonal swimming. Fishing areas on other areas is the lake, but not allowed at beach front.||||Visitor Center/Park Office had a nice exhibit room that highlighted the history of the SP and how the CCC was responsible for its' creation.||||Four negatives: 1) No showrhouse in full hook-up loop; just restrooms. 2) Grill rack on fire pit was broken. 3) Many large downed trees on Lone Spring Trail required us to stray from trail to maneuver around. 4) Very narrow, windy road within SP with no shoulder.||||Thank you Missouri State Parks for another...

Beautiful landscape, great view of the stars, winding roads and decent amenities. Horrible place to camp... This place is INFESTED with lone star and dog ticks. The campground host didn’t have our best interest at heart and was very uninterested in the dissatisfaction we were having with our experience. I gave two stars because this host at least gave us firewood and because of how beautiful the park itself is. We were threatened to be kicked out due to erroneous claims of a dog fight made by a cop staying at the site adjacent to us who kicked our dog in the face not once but multiple times. The camp host smiled and said to us that he would have kicked our dog in the face too (without knowing the full story). They refused to acknowledge our reservation to stay at another site to break up our group because we had “too many” dogs. The website recommends things that they require and demand. My fiancé’s grandmother was with us and fell at the campsite injuring her hip. The park manager refused to refund us a single penny and only called to see if we were going to return and pick up our things. Not sure if this is a Missouri thing or what but we will...
