We stayed two nights here on a recent road trip and could not say enough good things about our experience. Our cabin, the Ponderosa, was simply but adequately furnished with a full kitchen, bathroom, two cozy beds, and satellite TV. The front porch and the outdoor grill and fire pit areas are well kept and perfect for relaxing in your rocking chair or starting a bonfire. Unfortunately, due to rain during our stay we were not able to take advantage of the fire pit but were really looking forward to it. The nearby wooded areas make for some nice light hiking and there are some larger trails through the Uwharrie National Forest within walking distance. My 3-year-old son loved being able to come in from playing with sticks and pinecones to wind down with a couple episodes of Paw Patrol. To top everything off, we realized upon returning home from our trip that we had left our son's beloved teddy bear somewhere in the cabin. I emailed the owners and received a prompt reply that they had found the bear and would ship him back to Florida. My son was absolutely thrilled to open the box that arrived today and be reunited with his favorite bedtime buddy. It is obvious from our experience that the folks that run this place care about their guests' experience and are willing to go the extra mile to ensure that they are well taken care of. I don't know when we will be in the area again, but I would go out of my way to return here and enjoy their wonderful combination of amenities and...
Read moreWow! This place was awesome! My family and I stayed at the Country Lane and loved it! Unfortunately it rained both nights of our stay, so we didn't get to use the grill, picnic table, or fire pit. But we still had a great time. Note: The town of Troy closes at 8pm, including the grocery store, and there were very few restaurants open on Saturday.
There was plenty of room and the cabin was very clean. We had everything we needed, including WiFi and TV. True, there was no cell service, but we used the WiFi to enable us to use our phones. AC unit worked so well that we were actually cold (middle of July, go figure).
If you want to go kayaking, put in at Low Water Bridge. Pick up is the Uwharrie River Access point on Hwy 109 (You'll need two vehicles). The people at the Eldorado Outpost were very helpful and gave us great directions. Everyone we met was super friendly.
I've already shared the cabin rental website on Facebook. We will...
Read moreThe service was amazing, we met the owner as we showed up and he was super nice. We paid through the online app coming from Oklahoma to the Uwharrie Cabins and everything was impeccable and on the plus side the front cabin door is coded so there's no key to loose and with every person he takes the time to reset the door code to ensure the cabin is all for you. The cabins themselves where amazing, super clean very well kept and better priced than a hotel for the amount of time we stayed - we will most definitely be staying everytime we come through again. The cabins have amazing AC, stove and oven with a range, table height fridge and a double sink - the kids enjoyed the cable TV and the amazing hot showers after playing at the lake and hiking all day. The cabins have choices of 1 or 2 beds. Cannot stress how flawless the stay here was. Worth...
