Lovely little campsite right next to the river. Camp hosts were very nice. Stayed 4 out of 5 nights planned as weather had other plans for the 5th. Regardless of that, the trip was amazing and the campground was wonderful. Will definitely stay here again next on the next camping trip to Truckee.

A very classic simple riverfront campground. A single pit toilet for 12 sites can be a bit of a challenge, but it was clean at least. NO potable water. Note that they keep site 1 for FCFS but apparently how it is marked is confusing as we saw several people looking for a site drive right past.

I like the simplicity of this campground come in and if no reserved sign you can purchase any spot. Camp is very clean for no host. Rangers come by frequently and are friendly. Nice to camp to the sounds of the river.

Location location location.

The review that described this as a parking lot ringed by campsites is correct. 1 toilet. No water. Right on the Truckee river. If you are looking to fly fish, this is a great spot to crash and then get an early start. Wouldn't look to hang out at this campground and take it in. All the spots are roughly equally sufficient.

The river apparently gets a good deal of pressure right there. At the next turnout up the road, I hiked over to the river and caught a couple little ones on a dry fly.

A few things to keep in mind: Dogs are allowed which is a plus. No firewood for sale immediately there (probably something at the other nearby campground or closer to Truckee. There morning I was there in August was...

One of the cleanest campgrounds I've visited .. The restrooms are well kept and ventilated ... Most of the camping sections , or spots are nice and shaded for those hot summer days ... The surrounding area is Beautiful!!.. Boca Lake is about 4 or 5 miles away and a small river or brook runs right next to the grounds , and there's many trails to explore or hike !.. It's a fun weekend...

Great small campground tucked away past Boca Reservoir away from the crowds of Boca Rest. One pit toilet, no dumpster. Pack in, pack out! The campground is basically a parking lot with sites positioned around the perimeter. The back sites offer a little more privacy and space. Right next to the Little Truckee River. Watch out for large rocks throughout the...
