I wanted to love this place, but I can’t… and I understand it’s glamping, but online it says the room is kept at 70 degrees, it was a hot summer day and the dome was 74, there was no notification that they kept the remote for the AC, so I had to send a text to get it to the advertised 70degrees. *The toilet is a porta potty, while it was clean, it’s still a port a potty in the desert, I wish I would have known this prior to booking. *On their booking page it says they have an air mattress for a third person, I emailed Reena about a 3rd person, when we arrived, there was no air mattress. When I mentioned it to Evan, he said it would be an extra cost of $30, so I declined, happy we brought our sleeping bag instead :)
Learn from me and pick Dome 2… you will have more privacy from the other patrons. People staying at Dome 2, drive through Dome 1 parking and eating area, our neighbors parked in front of our eating area, rather than in front of their own lodging… later it was moved, but I think there needs to be a bigger sign that shows where Dome 2 people should park vs Dome 1.
While I wouldn’t stay here again, my kids enjoyed themselves. The grill and fire pit worked just fine.
For location, you’re closer to the Marine Base than you are to Joshua Tree. Also heading to the Domes, you’ll go from a two way road, to a non marked road, to gravel, to dirt… then back to gravel.
I will say the mattress was super...
Read moreWe were excited to stay there, but our expectations were too much positive than the reality. Despite the tent was pretty nice inside and equipped, the advertisement says that you have a private bathroom but please note that the toilet doesn’t exists!!! But just only a chemical bath outside.. awful! especially if you pay more than $250/ night. The tend isn’t located so much closed to the Joshua Tree National Park so you need to move by car and drive to get in the amazing park which we really loved!!
The property is working progress so you’ll find better conditions in the future maybe. I would also recommend to the owners to leave the remote of AC inside the tent as it’s very rude and unfair keeping it away; not everyone needs cold air over head sleeping overnight and in the case, we were required to text them or call just to ask to turn it off or turn it down.. that’s totally...
Read moreStill, quiet, desert sunset, sunrise, night jewelled sparkling stars and soft shrouded milky way. Comfy bed, direct the air flow flap above head. Fan is just right. Dome is fun with view especially in the sunrise morning as it invites you outside. Fun showering outside enclosure in flip flops. I declined the cowboy trough soak with water like swimming pool water. Drove to Joshua Tree National Park after. Hosts were wonderful, friendly, supportive, welcoming, heart full. Helped me drive there, walked me through my place, gave art tour. If you want to use the gas fireplace I recommend watching how then practice in front of him to ensure you get it right. Love all the attention to details. Lots of thought and care. I was the only one. Felt safe. Next to owner's home with 1 other dome which was empty. It was 107 degrees, dropped to less at night. Early July. ...
