I lived at Oregon Trail Rock Patch for 15 months, May 2016 – August 2017. The first day I arrived I was placed in a row next to the nightly travelers. I asked to move spaces, not only because of the noise, but due to the fact that there were no trees and no grass. Multiple spots were open in shaded areas and I asked multiple times to move to other spots. Twice, Mark tried to fit me into two other spaces but they also had no grass or trees which obviously didn’t solve my issue or concern. You will also notice multiple residents who are truck drivers or travel extensively and are gone 3 to 4 weeks at a time but have grass and shade trees. Full time residents do not want to stay at this park. Among with nothing but rocks, the wifi does not work, the dog park (1/50th of a acre) is filled with feces and diseases that made my service dog sick three separate times that all ended in trips to the vet. I stopped using the dog area and the sickness stopped, however I was then hassled every day about dog poop all over the park as if I was the only resident with a dog. What trees are in the park are over watered and residents just received an increase in rent due to a supposed city water and sewer prices increase to make up for all their waste. Every month your electricity bill is completely different by $20 or $30 dollars difference. They will not fix your parking area after the rocks settle and they do not add rocks to improve your parking spot. Public restrooms and showers have a horrible odor when showering or using the sinks. I had multiple issues with neighbors being loud throughout all hours and that was brought to management’s attention on several different occasions with no resolution. During winter months there is no maintenance what so ever. The snow is never plowed or moved and turns into layers and layers of ice. I talked with Mark August 20th about a hunting trip that my spot would be open for seven days and I would be right back to stay again. We had an agreement on price and that they would prorate my spot if they used it while I was gone. Two days later I pulled out a calendar to give Mark hard dates on my trip and he told me “No, you’re done! As soon as you leave this park we are filling your space”. I then asked well, what about nightly spots, can I come back for those and 4 days from my trip he says “nope were going to be full, you will have to find another place to stay”. The last month I was also left with a 54 dollar electricity bill. Supposedly 40 dollars from the monthly rate goes towards electricity so that means in a 30amp camper, I used 94 dollars of electricity, the highest bill I had since living in the park by over 28 dollars. September 2016 I didn’t even have an electricity bill so it must have been because I informed them I was moving... Not only did they go back on their word about having a space available for me to come back to, they also quoted me $10 more dollars a day then neighbors who were next to me and had to leave for a week. I had stayed with him 15 months. That’s over 5600 dollars of income for a rock patch and once they knew my tenure was over, they just want to push you out. After the countless times I helped travelers, other residents and the owners, it’s pathetic how I was treated once they found out I was leaving. There are multiple parks located around twin falls that are very nice with tons of grass, tons of trees, walking trails, pools, working wifi and actual dog parks. I recommend the 93 RV park in Filer, Anderson Camp in Eden, or the KOA in Twin falls. All are located very well & with just as fast of access as the Oregon...
Read moreDue to COVID-19, we opted to avoid all air travel and hotels and chose to rent an RV to make our cross country journey. We are relatively new to RV camping with only 4 previous nights under our belt.
Moments ago 7:20pm we decided to call the campground to let them know that we would be arriving at approximately 8:40pm - a bit later than we would have liked, but one does not get to choose the traffic and road conditions on 84 West.
The man that answered told us that “it look like you are going to be late, and won’t make it here by 8:00pm and we don’t allow that, so I’ve cancelled your reservations. You should try somewhere else. Try KoA (and 2 others which I do not remember the name at this moment).”
I was not sure if this was some type of humor or joke, and asked “I’m not sure if you are joking or not, but we will be late and arriving at 8:40, we just wanted to let you know.”
His response, “No, I am not joking. I’ve cancelled your reservation - I don’t want you coming in late and kicking up dust for the guests that could arrive on time.”
As you can imagine after 14hrs of driving, two tired kids and a dog, this isn’t what you want to hear an hour from your destination.
We have never stayed here, and based on this extremely inhospitable conversation, we will never stay here in the future.
To the owner, manager, or staff that answered my call - you were rude, unfriendly and not the type of person we want to do business with - someday, after 14hrs of travel, I hope you get treated the way you treat others.
To other travelers, I suggest you find other accommodations as this campground / RV park - clearly does not care about...
Read moreEntering the park through the one entrance/exit which was a single lane was a bit of an issue, both coming and going. When a large rig is checking in they block the entrance/exit. If two arrive at the same time and you need to leave - plan on being behind schedule. The spaces we were in were decent for a city RV Park. they had trees and some grass. There were other areas which were not good at all. Many of the spots were taken up by full time residents it appeared. The "dog park" was back through a whole section of the RV Park you wouldn't even know existed...might be better if you didn't and then it is a section of lawn, not fenced and half saturated with water - so no off leash. The other grass areas in the park are very clear there are no dogs allowed on them. They did have a playground for children and a lawn. I would not feel comfortable letting my children go over to it without being with them, but it was there. The showers and bathrooms were very clean and nice. Overall it was a dingy feeling while being at this location. There was obviously some septic issues, either with campers or their system in general with the smell. There was no view of anything besides your neighbor RV or a fence and then you have the long term residents. Some were neat and clean and others were very questionable. Especially back by the "dog park". Will find another place when in the...
