Tyler Motel — Hotel in Tyler

We have family in the area and have stayed at this motel a number of times. It's an older property that hasn't seen many changes over the years. It is now in second generation ownership, however, and some upgrades have been made (at least in the room we where in) including a wall mounted flat screen TV and a fridge/microwave. As always, it was clean and the bed passed the bedbug inspection. The same old funky A/C system is still there, but it got the job done in near 100 degree heat. This motel was so awesome! A total throwback that is well maintained and operated by a great staff. The rooms are as tiny as they come, but kick back and enjoy the nostalgia. You can't help but be reminded of how oversized our modern lives really are, when we can be just as comfortable in such a small space. As long as you're in good company with family and/or friends of course. So be sure to check the Tyler Motel out next time you're cruising through to one oversized abode or the other. I was driving in bad weather going to work. I knew I shouldn’t continue. I stopped in Tyler. The owner was so very nice and accommodating. The rooms were warm,, extremely clean and comfortable! Thanks so much for saving me when I shouldn’t have been out in bad weather! In the morning a mom and her child were shoveling the snow in the parking lot. I could hear them outside and they were kind to each other even though they were shoveling in -18 degrees. Clearly a great family! Fabulous place to stay! Good luck to the owner,...
