This review is about the tiny tower: Magical, beautiful, transcendent, cottage core fantasy stay. When we arrived at the place, Josh and Shaun had left a handwritten note card and some goodies for us, and I think that already says so much about the level of thoughtfulness they put into this whole property. They don’t take any shortcuts in making sure that this is the perfect stay for their guests. They also managed to make sure all of our needs were met without disturbing our privacy. We didn’t run into anyone our whole stay and felt like we were in our own little world. The tower kept sound in and out very well. We were also impressed how well insulated and warm the tower was — we stayed in the winter and were worried it might be cold, but the pellet stove is really easy to use. The (dreamy) bed also has heated blankets!! I can’t even begin to describe how much we loved the tower itself. Our hosts have managed to make sure the tower has all of the modern comforts we needed during our stay (kitchen had everything we need, plenty of outlets, lots of lighting) whilst not compromising the historic value of the property. It was beautifully decorated. The warm lighting was super cozy. We especially loved the painted high ceiling and huge windows in the bedroom (the light that comes through in the morning is not harsh as the sun doesn’t shine directly into the room). I enjoyed drinking tea (which they left plenty of + a really well made electric kettle with great laminar flow) downstairs and looking out the window at the stream that runs through the property. Santarella Gardens is super well maintained. We were afraid we would be missing out on all of the spring bloom shown in the pictures since we came in the winter, but they had the property appropriately decorated for the season. In terms of convenience, the location for this property is great as it’s about a 7 minute drive to groceries and maybe 10 for restaurants and shops. You can even go a little further to explore other towns in the Berkshires. The Tyringham Cobble, a lovely hiking trail, is also a less than 10 min drive away. Overall, we are incredibly grateful for the time we spent here and hope to come back someday. I am positively envious of our hosts for having such a lovely place to live and share with others, but better people could not own this property. Please respect it as they have if you choose to stay because what they’ve created is magical. If you have any concerns, I’m sure they will be more than willing to address them (we asked about privacy before going and got a super quick response). Cannot recommend...
Read moreI don’t even know where to begin, but I’ll try to keep it short & sweet. My husband surprised me on my birthday and we took the drive out from Brooklyn. It was literally perfect. The owners were one of the sweetest/coolest people we’ve ever met. Super passionate and down to earth- I wish them nothing but the best. Their efforts don’t go un noticed & if you decide to take the trip there, you won’t be disappointed. The area as a whole is just beautiful. Their property is enchanted and you will feel like you’re in a fairytale. Super cozy and comfortable. Several good places to eat nearby. Deff a good way to get a break from the...
Read moreHoly mac, what a picture perfect location! I've photographed a few weddings here, and it's nearly impossible to take a bad shot at this incredibly unique wedding venue. It's kind of on the smaller side, which makes it perfect for a more intimate wedding. It's called the Gingerbread House because it really does look like a house from a brothers Grimm story. And the silo rooms in the back are freaking incredible, it's like visiting a Lord of the Rings movie set! Santarella is definitely the most unique wedding venue I've ever photographed at, and I cannot...
