Be aware of staff inaccuracy of charges. We stopped on our was through and the price listed as advertised on Google maps. I did nor pay attention nor was I informed of my room charge, which was 40% more than listed online. I confronted the gentleman about it and although he was very polite, he would not fix the problem before I left the front counter. I said I'm not paying that much so refund the transaction, I have not even left with the room keys yet. He said he Can not do that or cancel this. Keep in mind this was not a reservation, this was a stop through about 1-2 a.m. I said the price listed here does not match what you charged (I only knew that because of another person in our party booking a second room). Did not get a receipt and would not let me see irc get a copy of what I even signed. I was told you need to book online to get that price (their website) so I did, price matched advertised when doing so and he still would not issue a refund. Said he couldn't. I insisted he called someone, he said there is nobody to call at this time and he would take down my information for the manager to call me the next day. I was uncomfortable with this but I was tired from driving 14 hours which is why we stopped. I refused the room key for the first roo. as they listed them under different numbers and insisted on doing so since I was not staying in it and they were refunding it. The manager never called me. I called 2 times to follow up and the 3rd time I finally got in contact with her 1.5 days after the transaction. She was very quiet in the phone said she was aware of the situation but doesn't understand it. She pointed out I was charged 3 different amount I said I know that is why I need a refund for the room I didn't stay in. She remained silent in the phone for a couple of minutes, giving her time to do what she needs to I did as well before saying something and her response was "I am trying to remain calm" and that is when things went south. We were very polite and working with them on it and she was basically refusing to understand so she did not have or refund the room. She just kept repeating herself saying "I don't understand" explaining it over and over I said this is black and white situation. Check yours cameras. I refused the key to the first roo., I was overcharged I was told the only way it could be fixed I'd to do the online booking so I did... on and on, she hung up on us twice! Never...
Read moreDriving southbound down I-65, I'd been searching desperately for a rest stop for what seemed like 100 miles. Finally I see a sign for a Travelodge, just up ahead. I pulled off the highway, pulled right into the lobby and ventured in. The girl at the front desk was cheerful, despite the late hour, although I sensed a bit of sadness, almost malaise from the girl. She told me I didnt need a major credit card to rent a room for the night, which was a huge breath of relief to me, seein as I only carry a debit card with me on these long trips. She assigned me my room and told me to get some sleep. I agreed. I drove around to my room, unloaded all my steal-ables (I drive a pickup truck) and entered my room. Almost instantly I was captured by the room. Although simple, it was everything I needed for a quick 6 hour nap and a shower. There was a large stinkbug inside, near the window, but I let him be. Far be it from me to end another creature's life just to ensure a peaceful night's sleep. The TV worked and had cable, so I put it on to lull me into a much-needed slumber. I awoke several hours later to the conveniently provided alarm clock's blaring. Some radio station I'd never heard, nor would ever hear again woke me to the tune of the famous Bachman Turner Overdrive's "Takin Care of Business". Which was exactly what I needed to do, take care of business and hit the road. I loaded up the truck and went back to the front desk to formally check out. As I did so, I noticed that they had a 'continental breakfast' of sorts arranged in the front lobby. As the new front desk lady checked me out, I perused the breakfast assortment. All that was left was cellophane-wrapped red apples and brown bruised bananas. I took one of each. Later on in the day, I unwrapped the apple and took a bite. It was terrible, probably the worst apple I've ever bitten into. I tossed it out my window on I-65S. The banana sat on my dashboard for another few hours until I finally arrived at my destination. I then picked up the banana, looked at the increasingly large brown spots and discarded it. It mightve been ok to use for banana bread, but not just to...
Read moreTraveling from Indiana to Florida, and I and my two daughters stopped here for the night after a very long day's drive. Young man at the desk was extremely courteous and helpful - gave us the very last room available for what seemed well under nearby going rates (as seen online for area). The property was neat, the room was fairly spacious, and the A/C worked great. Yes, we saw a few bugs in the bathroom - but the room itself was clean. The beds and pillows were way too soft for me, but I imagine most people would have loved them (my youngest daughter certainly did). However, the shower had the hottest water and best pressure I've EVER experienced in any hotel of any price!! I would stop and stay here again just for that amazing shower! Wonderful after a long, long drive. However, depending on the time you arrive, there may be no food options available for some miles (and most in the area closed at 10pm). Front desk sells packaged snacks. Complimentary coffee at desk in the morning was nice (room had a small coffeemaker, but no cups...). Ice maker was either not working, though, or just out of ice. This is definitely not a destination hotel, but overall a very good experience and very decent lodging when we really needed to stop for the night and needed it to...
