My wife and I were excited to return to the European Artists B&B, where we had stayed several years back when it was a different proprietor. We enjoyed our experience very much then and had planned to return, and were interested in what we would find for our August visit under new stewardship. ||||We made plans to arrive after a long driving trip through Quebec on our way home. We arrived on a late Friday evening, dropped our things into our room, and found our way upstairs to the shared space to look for a refrigerator and the Wi-Fi password. We found fresh homemade tart, a tea station, and an open door to the porch overlooking Mansfield and Camel's Hump... and on that porch we stayed for two hours. ||||The B&B is in a beautiful location and is nicely adorned. Todd and Val facilitated a lovely experience that went beyond the traditional B&B experience. The breakfast was multi-course, and it was neat to hear from T&V how they selected local ingredients or from vendors they enjoyed visiting (and then referred us to). We were hoping for a full-day hike on Mansfield and when it looked like incoming thunderstorms in the evening would be preventative, they directed us to a challenging and rewarding hike that kept us out of the worst of the weather. They have a opt-in dinner - you can let them know in advance if you're interested - 50ish per person - we came back to that on Saturday night. Todd whipped us up a cocktail with our dinner with some pine-inspired spirits he made, and we felt downright spoiled with the delicious food they brought to us in waves. We had a great conversation about respective travels, etc - just a fun night. ||||The chickens were very fun as well. We had a wonderful time and look forward to...
Read moreFrom the moment we arrived at Laure's European Artists B&B we were amazed with the whole experience. I was looking for a quiet getaway for my daughter to rest after shoulder surgery and took two rooms. Laure's place provide way more than I hoped for! Laure has done an amazing job of creating a 5-star B&B on an amazing piece of property that offers breathtaking views. The fall colors will be amazing from every room. Each guest room has it's own character (artist theme) that offers some traditional and non-traditional works of Kandinsky, Picasso, and Schiele. The Schiele room offers a claw-foot bathtub.
The entire place spotless. The rooms large, bed very comfortable, and the bathrooms excellent. The house is less than 2 years old. I would strongly recommend staying here more than a single night.
If you are looking for a special place that is relatively off the grid (there is no tv, but very good wifi) this is the place! We stayed for 6 nights, my daughter is well on the mend AND I was able to completely unwind from most of my high pressure life. There are a good number of excellent restaurants within 40 minutes (max) and Laure was very helpful in recommending them.
Burlington is only 40 minutes away, making this a great place for parents of students. Next time I return to visit my daughter at University of Vermont, this is where I will stay. The drive into Burlington is stunning.
Stowe, Smuggler's Notch, and Sugarbush are only a stones throw away, making this a great place after a full day on the mountains. Hiking, biking, kayaking, skiing are are very close!

Read moreWe stayed two nights at this tranquil B&B and are already planning a return visit! With only 3 rooms, it offers a sense of privacy and calm that is often hard to find. As soon as we arrived, we knew this was someplace special. The tranquility and peace were just what we were looking for. As two people who are heavily involved in the arts, we couldn't have felt more at home surrounded by all the artwork in both our room (we stayed in the Picasso room) and the common area, along with the eclectic knick-knacks which could just as easily have been found in a Parisian cafe and the French music selections that accompanied our breakfast each morning. Truly, this is a place conducive to relaxation and inspiration. Laure's poise, grace, and free-spirited nature made her feel more like an old friend rather than a new acquaintance, and to say that she's a whiz in the kitchen would be an understatement. Fresh baked goods and juice made each morning, breakfast choices showcasing locally sourced foods such as berries picked on the property, and exotic international offerings sent to her by her friends around the world. Our room was immaculate. Clean, modern, and uncluttered, the European nuances continued through the room and into the bathroom, where there was a spacious rain-head shower and a heated towel rack. Guests are encouraged to flex their creative muscles by leaving their mark (literally) in a collection of drawings individual to each room; just another example of the unique personal touches this B&B offers at every turn. C'est...
