My chief complaint with this property was that there is no signage to follow where to enter to check-in. I finally went in through the doors marked 989 followed a long hallway and came to the bar/bowling alley area. There I found a customer service desk. I was not greeted immediately (there was nobody at the desk and two men behind it). After a moment of awkward silence I asked where I check-in at and was told that was the place to check-in. The check-in process was sufficient, but not much interaction from the man checking me in. ||||After checking into my room - I was quite pleased. The room was quite large. Kitchen area, dining table for 4, living room space big enough to do cartwheels, bedroom separate from all of that with 2 queen beds and a tv in both the living room and the bedroom.||||The water in the room has a very metallic smell to it- they are clearly on a well. Which that doesn't bother me, I'm on a well too at my home- but I could not get past the smell of the water to drink from the tap.||||I also noticed that there was a soap scummy feel along the side of the tub wall- as it was late and they do not have 24-hour desk I did not mention it - I only shower anyway, but none-the-less it's a bit gross. The bathroom also appeared to be the only thing they have not updated and if nothing else gets updated - the fixtures and calking around them should be replaced.||||In the morning I attempted to check-out; however, I was again completely confused on what door to enter to do so- there is no signage, and if there is it's not obvious because I completely missed and actually made an effort to find it. I tried the 989 doors again but they were locked. So, I ended up leaving my room key in the room.||||Overall the experience was not bad, but it was not exemplary either. Would have liked to see better customer service, signage and cleanliness in...
Read moreWEDDING VENUE: My husband and I were married September 16th of 2017 and chose Riverwood Resort as our venue. We were looking for a local place in which we could hold the ceremony and reception for a decent price- enter Riverwood! We visited several other venues in the area, all of which would charge extra for the ceremony location, or places that would charge an arm and a leg for catering. Riverwood went way over my expectations of a venue! We held the ceremony outside on the greens, which served as an excellent location, as there was a shaded area where the elderly guests could sit and observe the ceremony, as it was roughly 85 outside that day! We did have to rent chairs from Mount Pleasant Rent Rite, but the staff of Riverwood set them up the night before. We had our rehearsal dinner there the night before, and were able to decorate the room following, which was great! The food was amazing- we received so many compliments after dinner and the price per plate was very good- it was roughly $24 per plate (which included two entrees, salad, rolls, potatoes, vegetable, table linens, napkins, dining ware, tax, and gratuity), which is an excellent price. They worked very well with our vendors on getting everything set up, and had golf carts available so we could go out on the course and take some cool pictures. Everything, in all honesty, went perfectly- Jeremy Lawless, the gentleman that was helping coordinate everything, was way more than accommodating, answering all my calls and emails. I honestly cannot say enough good about him- he made sure everything went my way, that we had a good plan going into everything, and was just all around super amazing! I can honestly say, as a bride, I would not have changed a single thing...
Read moreI have golfed here a lot and haven’t had a bad experience until now. Course is gorgeous. However, tonight we paid full price for 18 holes (no twilight rate) and teed off on the first hole at 4pm. Got to the back 9 and had two sets of 5-somes cut in front of us. The cart girl, Kylie (was doing a wonderful job), was very sweet and told us that she would see if the 5-some was their employees and would tell them to pick it up. She came back to us and told us that BOTH 5-somes were employees. They did not let us pass. We were held up by employees and we couldn’t finish all 18 holes. I’m not sure if both 5-somes paid for 18, but from my understanding, employees at golf courses play for free/guests get discounts. The fact that employees, non-paying customers, would not let us pass is really unfortunate and disheartening. If you’re gonna suck at golf, either suck faster or let the...
