Have a permanent site there for 3 years now. Rates keep going up. Now 2700 for a site with no sewer,no cable, electric has gone out on us 3 times in the past 2 months spoiling all the food in our fridge, you now can't have wooden sheds, and u can't use your golf cart after dark. Also can't use any kind of power equipment on the weekends. What the hell, some of us can only come up on the weekends, so what we're supposed to camp on a dirty site because we can't run a blower for a few minutes to clean it off! This place used to be privately owned but in the past year has been bought by a cooperation so the rules and regulations just keep on coming!! What's next no fires after 9:00 pm. This place is turning into a darn joke! Well I wrote this review a little while ago and I'm back now today just to let everyone know that because of my review we have been kicked out of the campground. Isnt that just great. Look whoever reads this you can take it for what it's worth but I highly recommend staying away from this place. There are much better places that actually have sewer and cable and real Wi-Fi for much less than what you will pay here. And you can have big wooden sheds, you can drive your golf cart at night, and you can clean your damper and it's grounds whenever you want. I forgot to mention that, there are only 2 wash weekends all season, other than that your not allowed to wash your camper! So for the rest of the season you have to just sit there and watch your thousands and thousands of dollars of an investment in a camper get disgustingly dirty and ruined! This place is just pathetic. I honestly don't care that we got kicked out, because we were leaving anyway. Just an absolute joke of a "campground". Do yourself a favor and keep searching. Trust me, we did and found a much...
Read moreVery central location for a lot of historical and interesting places. By East Coast standards the sites are average, meaning no separation between sites, neighbors sewer hookup right by your picnic area. Staff was very friendly and nice, but... Located close to a rifle range so you hear guns all day, showers never got warm for us during our 4-day stay, sewer pipes were uphill from my RV Connection, so make sure to bring a slinky and even then you will probably have to manually manipulate the hose. They should not advertise Wi-Fi, I was maybe 60 yards from the office where they say it works best and was unable to stream anything. There was a sewer rupture in the playground while we were there, forcing them to close the playground. The water was also undrinkable According to some fine print upon check-in. Laundry room utilizes a specific app that you have to download and put a minimum of $20 on. If you don't have 20 bucks worth of laundry I'm not sure what you do. Also the laundry machines were not working and no one on site had any idea how to address that, so I spent 45 minutes on the phone figuring out how to get my washer and dryer going because they had some sort of system glitch. 80 to 90% of the occupants are either seasonal or full-timers. Big Halloween festivities which was awesome for the kids, golf cart parade, dance, food, games. If you have little ones it's probably great. Dog run is very small, not much to walk to except for through the manufactured home park and Campground, no trails. Pricing is better than most in the area, but services reflect...
Read moreGreat campground. Wide variety of sites including spacious and wooded sites in some areas. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The cabins were clean and comfortable. A full (size) bed, two bunk beds, a small table with two chairs, a porch with a picnic table, a fire ring, and enough floor space inside for two pack n plays. There is a combo heat and AC unit in each cabin. It works well but it’s a funky setup. No thermostat or fan speed control, simple on/off system.
Lots of amenities available - an RC truck track, a fishing pond, an activity hall with events including bingo and dancing, a snack shack (with things like chili, hot dogs, soup, etc.), an arcade, a playground, a pool, volleyball/basketball courts, and shuffleboard. They’ve got propane and firewood available to purchase.
Cabellas, Aldi, and many other stores are within a 10 minute drive of the campground. Tons of other stuff to do in the area - Yuengling’s historic brewery and cave tours, coal mine tours, Cabellas stuffed animals and huge aquarium, Bird-in-Hand Amish country with lots of shops and amazing food, Crystal Cave, and more!
We were there for a Halloween weekend - which included trick or treating around the whole campground, a hayride through the park, prizes for the kids, and prizes for best costume/best decorated site. Several campers had haunted houses setup on their sites. The staff came around and threw bags of popcorn out.
My only suggestion would be the bathrooms could use some work. They were -fairly- clean but small and basic. Sinks were tight and hard to use for...
