A slice of heaven......
As my wife and I along with our 8 year old daughter are still at the campground I figured I would review before we even check out in 24 hours absolutely no reason to wait.
Reservation process was done over phone and if owners didn't answer because they were helping others calls were returned promptly and very polite.
Check in was flawless greeted with a smile and all information then escorted to our site as we rented a camper from them on site Lucille explained everything about camper.
As we were getting situated it was slowed because of the amount of other campers just saying hello which was a great experience we then knew this was the place.
The camper absolutely clean with all amenities of home also outside a fire ring,a picnic table which as a painter had been polyurethaned which means no splinters and if it rains 2 minutes to dry it off we also had propane grill.
The grounds were extremely clean I can't emphasize this enough clean, clean, clean.
Things to do a very large swimming pool however if you're planning on diving or acting up in it this will not be tolerated it is a place to relax and enjoy yourself not splash people who are reading a book or just catching some rays, more then enough seating for everyone.
A pond to fish Horseshoe pits Playground Volleyball court all sand Frisbee golf course Half court basketball A game room Weekend theme parties Shower facility which is spotless
General store with odds and ends no frozen food but they carry milk,oj,eggs, dry box stuff in case you run out, toilet paper you know odds and ends
They sell firewood and even deliver it to your site which is very nice.
Rules yes they have rules this is why the grounds are extremely clean, other campers are friendly rules come with anything we do in everyday life follow them and you will have a wonderful, enjoyable vacation meeting nice people. They don't mind if you have a fire at night they don't mind if you have a drink if you're on your site or invited to neighbors site just keep in mind we're all here for the same reason and Charlie,Lucille and family want you to enjoy this wonderful campground they take such good care of.
Thank you Charlie,Lucille and Kristin for allowing us to enjoy and be part of your family for 7 days.

Read moreSuch a disappointment.... My extended family camps together 1 week every summer. That being said, we always have someone visit the campground before we make reservations- this allows us to make sure the space will work for us and to make arrangements for such a big group. We did so prior to our visit in July and when we arrived the conditions had changed. We had a total of 3 cabins, 3 trailer sites, and a tent site with the agreement that we could set up a bigger canopy tent to use as our common area. Well after arriving they added an additional charge per day on the tent site (which was already rented with electricity and water) because we had a portable air conditioner on site. Then when they saw that we had electricity being used at the canopy tent the charge for that site went up in price as well. I just don't see this practice as good business. On top of all that- the rules they have are ridiculous considering the environment is one of relaxing and being on vacation- one night they even made us turn the lights off at 10pm !!!! Mind you we were not even close to any other campers and were simply sitting around socializing and playing cards. Very disappointing to say the least- poor customer service and a very unwelcoming...
Read moreOur family stays at Dogwood Acres at different times of the year depending on the car shows at Carlisle. We like the fact that even if you don't have an RV or a tent, you can still go camping in the cabins. We chose Dogwood Acres as it is central to most activities that are family-oriented and educational in the area. The owners are very nice, polite and attentive to our needs and will often go out of their way to make sure our stay is always the best. Once after we checked out, I realized that I had left my brand new bathing suit in the bathroom. Lucille was kind enough to put it in a bag in the mailbox so we could swing back around and pick it up. They always have activities (both seasonal and general) scheduled every day of the week for both adults and kids to participate in. There are rules in place, but that is to ensure that everyone is safe since there are often cars traveling through the campground while children are playing. Although they do ask that if you must arrive later in the evening, to let them know so they can make the necessary arrangements. We always have a pleasant, relaxing time at Dogwood Acres and would positively recommend this campground to our friends and relatives when...
