If you had a chance to check out these reviews you saw several reviews about the abrasive nature of the management and staff at this campground.. But my experience tops them all.||||If anyone has ever stayed in this campground you are aware of the huge speaker system on the roof of the general store office that the owners use for announcements to the entire campground - yes the entire property - it's that loud! God forbid you might be napping when this thing goes off. You will fly off the bed. It looks like a war surplus air raid siren and it's just as loud. ||||On this night 10/24/2020 it's a cool night and all the RV's have their windows slid open. It's been cloudy so with the sun starting to set it made it prematurely dark and it's very peaceful as advertised. Suddenly, there is a blast of noise that sent everyone asking "What the hell is that?"||||The management of this campground decided to crank up the loud speakers to max volume with Halloween theme music at 5:30 in the afternoon. My campsite being only 100 yards from the office, I was subject to OO EEE OO AH AH TING TANG WALLA WALLA BING BING ringing in my ears. I endured this abuse for an hour hoping it would end until it didn't and I reached my boiling point.. ||||At 6:30 I went to the office and told the attendant how stupid - how ridiculous - how annoying this music is for the campers - along with some well deserved expletives while explaining just how ignorant the management of this park must be. "I'm trying to have dinner with my family at the picnic table and we can't hear each other speak!" and I had more expletives for the campground owners who soon descended on me. Long story short - the owners dug-in and said they will play their music as long and as loud as they want to. They said it's a special event of their Halloween Week for the kids although there wasn't a kid in sight and by now it's 7:30 and pitch dark. Halloween is next weekend anyway but the music continues. Complete BS.||||They left me no choice but to call the local cops to site them for disturbing the peace. That was a waste of time. This is one-horse town - one stop light anyway - the cops are their pals so the cops were useless saying that management can do whatever they want to do and I can leave if I don't like it. Dedicated servants in action! If any of those cops were on a camping weekend with their family and some moron started blasting music into their windows they would do something about it. Cops are supposed to ask the person behind the music to lower the volume for the sake of others around him. These cops know that, but evidently this particular moron is their backyard buddy playing the music.||||Long story short - the cops told me the owners want me to leave and I have no choice. The cops stood watch over me while I packed-up my RV and followed me off the property with a refund for the night that I never got to enjoy. And the music was still blasting away.as I drove out the front gate and down the road.||||So if you are thinking about staying at this campground I would think twice. What I have said and what the other reviewers have said is absolutely true. There are much better campgrounds with better...
Read moreI don’t normally leave reviews but my family and I were verbally attacked last night at this campground. I was sitting down eating dinner with my toddler when this man (supposedly the owner) gets out of a white truck and walks up to our site. At first I thought nothing of it until he threw a poop bag at me and it landed right in front of our picnic table. I questionably said “Can I help you?” The man immediately started yelling at me, accusing me of breaking the tree behind me and when I tried to explain it was broken upon arrival he cut me off and continued yelling profanities at me while aggressively getting closer and closer. I put my hands out in front of me and said “Who are you??? Stop yelling at me! If you want to have a conversation that’s fine but you are being way way too aggressive right now! Back up!” He then said “ I don’t fn like your tone I’m the OWNER GO GET YOUR MOM OR DAD” so I said “ I’m part owner and NOT a child but do you normally just yell at children???” He then told me to get my husband or whoever was the other owner. Once my partner got there things escalated even more and the owner said he wasn’t kicking us out but we are never allowed to come back and he doesn’t care how long we’ve been customers or who we have referred it means sht to him! We then said how unprofessional, uncomfortable and unnecessary this whole interaction was! We then informed him we were leaving immediately. He then got into his truck and sped away which to my knowledge there’s a 5mph speed limit so he could have hit someone!|||| My SIL and MIL then went down to the store to vouch for us that the tree was already broken and the nice manager at the store said they were aware of it being previously damaged. The maintenance man even said the owner knew the tree was broken?? The owner then came into the store and proceeded to be verbally aggressive with my SIL and he eventually stormed out/drove away. ||||I can’t even wrap my brain around how this has happened. We have loved previously coming to this campground and now that is completely ruined. I know the campground commented on my partners Google review apologizing and that is very appreciated but hopefully the owner will change his ways or I don’t see a future for this campground. Word of mouth, referrals, and repeat customers are what keeps a business alive, it’s a shame the owner does not value that. To be accused of something we didn’t even do, and to be attacked in the way we were was so beyond...
Read moreThis is a CAMPGROUND. It is not a RESORT, nor does it bill itself as a resort. The sites are generally grass or sand. there is no cable and the wi-fi is spotty at best. The new pool is very nice. The 'swimming' Lake (Pond) has been usurped by the new pool. There is fishing in one of the ponds. There is a path out the back to an old RR roadbed that one and hike or bike. There is a trail over to the local winery. About 15 minutes brisk walk or 20-30 minute saunter. The CG does have activities for the kids. We have stayed here twice and are headed back for a third stay in a couple weeks. The fence line sites back up to the farm, The cows graze right up to the fence. They have a couple, 3 I think, longhorns and a few goats. My family likes the laid back atmosphere. We've stayed in a few places that overwhelm you with activities, so much so you really wish they would just stop. Don't need a loud DJ, don't need all sorts of games. That said they do have a dance, they do have activities, they just keep them a bit quieter than some other places.
From the CG there are a number of things that are within an easy drive. Historic Philadelphia, the Berlin Farmers Market, the Cowtown Farmers Market, the Cowtown Rodeo (worth a trip even if you aren't a fan, go at least one time).
The CG store is small and very basic, the game room is the same, small and basic. So? the rates are decent, especially for being in NJ and so close.
What would I like to see? Better Wi-Fi, as I usually sorry to say try to get in a little work, 50 Amp power along the fence line, cable would be nice, but its not a deal breaker. If they opened up the interior roads a bit, I think I could really like some of the interior sites, but with our bus, I am not up for those sites. Nice if the pool was larger and open longer. But they do have some fixed umbrellas for some shade so that is nice.
This is not a place for everyone, but it fits our...
