My niece was getting married and Shellrock and we were told that rooms would be blocked off at Urbana inn and suites. When we arrived. We were a little bit before check in and they allowed us to check in.
The lady that was working out the front desk when we got there was very kind. She was patient. She was quick and she asked us if we had any questions and gave us our keys and we went to our room.
We decided to take a rest as we had been traveling from Rochester, Minnesota and knew that it was going to be a long evening and next day because of the wedding and when we woke up there was water all over floor in the bathroom by the toilet.
We were leaving to go to my niece's rehearsal dinner and we let the gentleman at the front desk know and he acted pretty clueless as to what he should do other than stating that he would go down there with a towel and wipe the water up, which we had already done once previous to that.
When we returned there was a different person that was working the front counter and she explained that they would call the maintenance guy the next day and he did come into our room and we were told that we just needed to watch it. They did not offer to move us to a different room or offset any of the costs.
We found out after we checked in that they do offer a military discount which we at first were told they did not and they would not go back and retro our room fee to include a veteran discount for which my husband is a veteran.
All the rooms are different. The room that we were in was a very basic outdated room. It was clean but all of the stuff is outdated and then the room right across the hallway was completely redone with nice light laminate flooring and nice wood furniture. Nice scent and we checked out a couple of the other rooms that family were staying in and they were also very updated and nice.
I am unsure if we would stay there again possibly, but we would ask to be put in an updated room as opposed to an...
Read moreWe stayed in a regular room for the night. The room was very clean, and everything was there that needed to be. The room included a refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine, TV with many available channels, a desk, alarm clock, and phone. The beds are firm, but comfortable. There is also a heating/cooling system within the room that is easy to use and works well. The bathroom was very clean, and the towels were placed neatly.
Breakfast was available and included fresh fruits, waffles, cereal, coffee, toast/bagels, and donuts/pastries. The dining room was clean and spacious, and there is also seating with a TV area toward the back of the room.
The employees provided excellent service in answering questions, providing help with a key issue we had, and making sure our stay was great.
The parking lot was pretty clean, and there is a lot of room for parking. Semi parking is in the back of the building.
Additional services provided at this hotel include a gym with a few pieces of equipment, a pool that is very spacious and clean, an event room within the pool room, and vending machines.
Overall, it was a very...
Read moreMy family and I have used this hotel in the past. Has it gone WAY downhill! Updates needed!!!! We were given a room at the far end of the hallway. This Room was designated as a "pet" Room. It's not fit for any pets nor human for that matter. The carpet was terribly stained there were dead bugs in corners on the floor which indicated it hadn't been vacuumed in a long period of time. There was a used Kleenex in the drawer along with other items left from previous travelers. The toilet seat had urine stain on it. It was very unclean! When we did complain we were moved to another Room. The next morning a different staff did not believe our concerns, and basically told us we were lying about the condition of the Room. She proceeded to also tell us that the other staff who told us we would get a discount was "new" and didn't know what she was talking about. The day staff was unprofessional and had poor boundaries. STAY AWAY! Drive further to a different location. You'll be...
