Comfortable and clean hotel. We enjoyed our stay. They provide slippers shoes must be taken off inside. The sauna was great. If you are looking to explore the town you can walk just about anywhere in town its small enough. We also hired a local guide to show us around and tell us the local history. Mike was great. I'll post his business card. If you can't get a hold of him ask the hotel to contact him. Also a taxi can take you anywhere in town for $7 plus $1 for each additional person. It's $14 for out side of town. My wife and I recommend hiring Mike.

This is a very nice hotel, especially for the area. It is located close to the airport which is convenient. When I went there I was required to remove my shoes before I could enter the hotel proper. They also said that you were not allowed to drink alcohol in your room. I ignored that rule and I think that they might have lifted that restriction since my visit. Still, I think that it is the best hotel in town. It is homey and has a rustic decor to match the surroundings.

Cozy, clean, spacious and tranquil. This convenient family-owned little inn is an ideal place for short stays in Barrow( Ukpiagvik). Really smart to have guests leave boots in the lobby so floors and rugs are free from the snows and dirt outside. Rooms are well-kept and service is great. Sauna would be an incredible experience once you get the hang of operating it. No routine housekeeping on Sundays so you have to ask in advance in case you need it.

We stayed here from 5th June to 7th June. We arrived in Utqiagvik just to see polar bears. Eider Inn was the best place to start our most memorable journey to watch polar bears in Point Bartow. With 24 hrs bright sunshine , the zero to minus 2 degrees was very tolerable and pleasant. ||Eider Inn is just 100 steps from the airport, very close to the ocean, 5 minutes walk from eating joints and a grocery store. ||The place is cozy and clean and spacious and made us feel at home and happy. The sleep quality was also very good. ||Mr. Lee, at the front desk, was very helpful, full of warmth, He is very resourceful.||The room is as shown in the pictures with facilities to make your own food, but we loved the restaurants around, and preferred to eat at Mario's Pizza , which we found reasonably priced and food portion was very large. |We tried out another closeby restaurant, Osaka on our last day of our stay. |There is a grocery store, Alaska Commercual company , next to Mario's Pizza, where you can get a variety of food items at reasonable price. ||The lobby has 24 hrs drinking water dispenser and free coffee and tea making facilities. ||There are plenty of birds to watch around this place. The ocean which is few minutes from the hotel was a spectacular sight to behold, all frozen even the waves, and surf. The whale bone arch is right there , next to Mario's and the famous signbiard of the snowy owl with welcome to Utqiagvik is right there too. The Uminmak's perch is also at this spot. |The prices of the room are the most reasonable and fixed irrespective of time of the year. ||Someday we may return just to enjoy their hospitality and the Northern lights (visible September onwards during winters) and...

Stayed here twice. Once close to the midsummer days (24 hours sunshine, still cold but pleasant) and once very close to the midwinter (no sunlight, temperatures reaching -40).

The 2nd time, I had to make a last-minute cancellation as I was stuck in Fairbanks due to the blizzard conditions and canceled flights. They let me cancel without charging. Then, eventually, I arrived on the 31st evening, later than my intended stay period as I managed to get a later flight from FAI - ANC - BRW. They gave me the room happily.

Other than that, very clean. No shoes inside. That brings extra cleanliness, like our home.

Lovely sauna. Only one person/family/room per use, due to COVID. That also means you have your privacy when you use it.

Free coffee and varieties of tea any time. Lovely deco in the lobby where you can sit and play chess. Northern lights were visible both nights, right outside the hotel.

Walking distance to the airport (and if you like to walk long like me, you can walk anywhere in Utqiagvik anyway).

Genuinely nice staff.

I have been to 46 countries and been to many hotels in them all. This is one of the very few hotels I repeated. (Utqiagvik has 4 options). This is also easily one of the best.

You...

If Utqiahvik is your destination, this hotel is perfect. Smaller than the well-known hotel, and family run, I can say my room was clean, quiet, comfortable, and spacious.|Everything necessary for a pleasant stay was available. The hosts were cordial, and allowed guests waiting for a flight out to use the reception area to wait for their flight after checking out. And one need only cross the road to get to the airport, incredibly convenient.|For the person who complained about having to remove their shoes in the reception area of the hotel: Utqiahvik has one paved road. The amount of grit and soil that accumulates on shoes and boots is considerable. I can’t think of a smaller ask on the part...
