Nice size room, comfy bed and pillows but they can do much better with a room offering like this and the "amenities" on offer. Unfortunately I spent time writing on their survey and so don't have time for details here but it's a nice place, they're just not living up to their potential.
Missing toiletry supplies, a hair on the floor, fridge too warm, remote not working and dreadful Springhill muzak video on the tv that, until you get the app on your phone, you can't shut off w/no working remote. And on a really (!!) hot day, thermostat set way too high for a reservation I had already checked into.
Decent size spread for free breakfast but, too many mostly sugary offerings and wondering if it wouldn't be possible for some alternative and healthy options. Only saw yogurts (also w/fruit and so sugary) and granny smith apples, maybe bananas) available. Granola bars usually also have a lot of sugar.
I arrived in the evening and exhausted from a meeting and then a quick family visit, needed a quick shower and so there was no time or desire to call down for the missing toiletries or other issues. I made do with what was there and luckily, slept well in the comfy bed. Curtain closed all the way and room was dark so I only woke up with one hour to spare to grab something to eat.
Check in/out (in person) easy as I had already checked in online and nothing to do to check out.
Not crazy about the public sign asking for sympathy on their plight of lack of housekeeping staff! The easy solution is to offer the right incentives like.... benefits, or living wage or both. And don't air the dirty laundry to guests. Fix your stuff people. Is the sign the excuse for what isn't right with the room or your management? It's not the housekeepers, looking at you Marriott CEO.
When I drove out, I saw the Hilton is across the driveway, and lots of other places nearby, which I was considering when booking but was drawn to the images of the room/suite and decent ratings. But, all said, I would have liked to have been able to wash my hair late in the evening after a super hot, long day part of which was spent on a farm. There wasn't any conditioner or body wash in my room so I used shampoo to wash with in the shower and had to skip washing my hair on a 90+F day because with color treated hair, I can't run a comb through my hair without conditioner. And the bathroom floor could have been cleaner when I put down the bath mat. I'll leave it at that.
I know it...
Read moreSpent the night at this hotel on 3/30/19 and was hugely disappointed! The girl who checked my husband and I in was very friendly and had my key waiting upon my arrival (I had checked-in through my phone). The room on the 4th floor was what I have come to expect from this brand and was clean and acceptable. The issues? First, the room temperature would not go below 65 degrees using the wall thermostat. The room was not cool and both my husband and I did not receive much sleep due to how uncomfortably warm the room felt to us. If I am paying for a room, the room should be at a temperature of my choosing to allow me to sleep. This is what I experience at other Marriott hotels (the only hotel I stay at). Next, while showering, the water abruptly became very cold to where I had to jump to the side and turn the handle to almost the “H” to bring the temperature back to warm where I originally had it. Once I did this, I was continuing to rinse my hair, when all of a sudden the water temperature quickly changed to a scalding hot temperature. This happened two more times (water to cold, then to scalding hot) while rinsing the conditioner from my hair. Furthermore, the breakfast was awful. The oatmeal was watery and inedible, as were the “eggs” (runny and gross). The juice had little flavor (watered down?) and there was no fruit on this day at all. Finally, upon check-out (we had a late 1:00pm check-out), I waited and waited for someone at the front desk. No one came and I even called out hoping someone would hear me. Meanwhile, the phone is ringing and ringing and ringing. The wait was so long that my husband, who was waiting in the car, came into the hotel to see if everything was okay. Eventually a housekeeping lady came and after we asked her for help, she pointed down the hall to the outside door where an employee was coming back in the door from outside. When she finally got to the front desk, she wreaked of cigarette smoke and asked if my stay was okay. I told her about the shower issue, but did not elaborate with the other issues. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this hotel for the previously...
Read moreTo whom it may concern, Overall the decor and atmosphere was nice, the areas were clean and enjoyable. Upon check-in I was given the key to my room but on the key card was written the number to a different room (unbeknownst to me). So upon going to the room number i was given "300" I was unable to access it with the card that was intended for room 311. A cleaner was kind enough to let me into the room (not my room) so I could put my things down and go and figure out why what I thought was my room was not opening with the card I was given. The receptionist at the desk soon realized the mistake and brought me back up to retrieve my things from room 300 so I could then go to room 311. Once that was settled the stay was routine, until the next morning. I was startled awake by a banging on the door at 830 am. A cleaner was there checking to see if I had checked out yet. Now I was in town for a wedding and had zero plans on being up before 9:00 am seeing as check out to my knowledge was 12 noon, so why a cleaner was banging on my door at 8:30 am is beyond me. Never-the-less i informed her that no clearly i had not checked out yet. Upon going downstairs for breakfast at 9:30 am. I was again asked if I was checking out and if they could get into the room. I informed the cleaners again that no I was not checking out yet. Breakfast was lovely by the way. Upon beginning to pack a few things up and get a bag or two to the car, I was asked again (3rd time now) if i was checking out and if they could get into the room. Check out is still 12 noon right???? So informed them again....... no. Now I can appreciate wanting to get a jump on the days work but come on really ??? Finally upon doing a final sweep of the room to make sure i did not miss anything (10:30 AM) and before I was asked a 4th time I let the cleaner know I was checking out, since she was waiting in the hall outside my room. So from being woken up at 8:30 am till 10:30 am, 2 hours I was asked if I was leaving 3 almost 4 times. Good thing I did not wait to check out till 12 I could have set some kind of...
