I would love to rave about this campsite. I've came here before around the 4th of July holiday with of course fireworks into the later night but nothing this bad. This year the fireworks lasted a minimum until midnight with a few occasionally let off following. The campsite hosts began at 9:00-9:30 with there fireworks show. Which under a general assumption might be okay, assuming it'd be a 30 ish minute show. This campsite didn't have any quite hours posted; I believe this is something for them to consider moving forward. There is close to 100 campsites and at some point consideration over the campers as a general and management over guidelines with what is allowed and what is disruptive. We are all paying to be here as well regardless of the holiday. This year was so bad that from 7ish to midnight the campsite adjacent to me let off fireworks consistently. They were so loud that myself and my partner couldn't actually hear each other talking. I wish that was a Karen comment filled with over exaggeration. This was coupled but other campsites and the hosts. Moving forward if people want to let off fireworks they should have them do so in a certain timeframe and not within the camp itself as that's a easy fire hazard. The individuals we camped near as we were backing out of the backroom and we made eye contact chose to light a firework roughly 3-5 feet away from our car. I understand alcohol is a huge contributer to disruptive behavior as I'm sure it was last night. As a person tenting with a child, I truly can't image how poorly this night was experienced by fellow parents, dog owners and anyone who had any realm of veteran PTSD. Again the fireworks aren't the problem, its the management of when and where these should be lit off and the consideration of...
Read moreThis company is one of the most disorganized companies we have worked with. The reservation requests had to be sent 3 times before they actually received them. Then due to a family situation we had to cancel our trip and they were informed 1 month prior to cancel our reservations. On top of that they claimed they did not receive an email indicating we wanted to cancel, even though in addition to sending an email I called and spoke directly with a person who assured me we would not be charged and that the cancelation would be taken care of. 3 days prior to the original reservation I received an email indicating our account had been charged and since the email was sent late in the evening there was no way to meet the 3 day cancelation policy. Remember this was supposed to be cancelled 1 month prior and the ball was dropped once again. I contacted the company again the next day and spoke with a person who was rude and not able to help at all. Our experience with this company has been a nightmare from the first time we contacted them. Please be careful when dealing with this company. The communication...
Read moreStayed at Allison Point CG (apparently you're allowed to use the dump station, water fill, showers) at Valdez Glacier because they're run by the same system.
Showers have great pressure and fantastic hot water, but are dated and dirty.
Dump station is pretty much straight ahead when you pull into CG. Potable water is next to bathhouse (there's a long roll out hose and a sign stating potable water).
CG is overgrown and has ALOT of mosquitoes.
If registration area is closed, there are forms on the pay pole where you can self register.
Personal opinion- dump and fill at the CG, then go to Allison Point CG (at end of Dayville Road). No hookups, but AMAZING views of the water- lots of sealion and otter sightings and a humpback whale on the day we left. Wind was a little more consistent, which kept mosquitoes under control. Head back to this CG to dump and fill when...
