Birdsong Backcountry Retreat — Hotel in Valley Center

My husband and I booked a weekend getaway at Songbird looking for some time away to plan for next year. We started each day with gentle yoga and went on guided mediation hike, all on the property, hitting cool spots like Boulder Gyms with killer lookouts along the way to take in the scenery and get centered. Worked up an appetite after all that, so we whipped up tacos back at the rental to fuel our 2024 visioning sessions over home-cooked meals. Ended the day's adventure soaking in the hot tub, then cozied up for a lazy pizza night.

The space exceeded expectations with thoughtful design touches everywhere - from the seamless functionality to the cozy, modern, and unique interiors. The backyard provided ample room running around with my dog. You get the feeling around every corner “they’ve thought of everything”!

On our way to yoga, we crossed paths with Laurie, who kindly showed us one of the newest offerings - a cozy glamping space with bedding and a full kitchen, expertly designed. What a perfect birthday gift - a peaceful and serene setting in a cozy home. The bonus of spending it with my partner and our three dogs is exactly what I could have wished for. And then, having a home to sit back and watch the dogs enjoy a large yard at their leisure while also getting to explore through the wilderness of Chihuahua Valley - triple bonus. Communication with Laurie and Jackie was seamless. Jackie was very attentive to any questions we had and also respectful of our solitude. I honestly wish I had more than a weekend there to reset my spirit. I know my hound dog, Pippi, felt at home and comfortable because for the first time in a long time she took in the sunshine outdoors. Our Boston Terrier, Leo, ran zoomies across the yard, too. My girlfriend was impressed with the yoga yurt and was excited to find the Archery Arroyo. She was practicing a lot of rounds of corn hole and enjoyed relaxing in the spa. This place is a piece of heaven away from home! Literally stop reading and book it now! lol But really this place exceeded all our expectations. My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and this place absolutely nailed it with what we needed: Reconnect with nature. This place is literally steps away from easy hikes with cool views, oh! and also an archery spot (with a bow & arrow), a horseshoe area and a bb gun spot. It's like a playground for adults! And I haven't even mentioned the beautiful cozy home with a hot tub that looks out to nature and stars, oh! and a firepit plus an awesome deck with a rocking chair overlooking your fenced front porch where you can see your doggos sun tan or run around. Oh and Jackie! Our camp host, welcomed us with freshly baked cookies, the most delicious allergen free cookies I've ever tasted in my life! Anywhooo this place is such a vibe and we will back!
