My husband and I stayed here 09/12/25 to 09/14/25. When we walked in it smelled of homemade bread. We were welcomed by Cara the owner's daughter. She was very nice, advised of all the things to do, breakfast, dinner times, etc. The hospitality we received from Patricia and her family was AMAZING throughout our stay!🤩 They go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed. Breakfast/Dinner were delicious.😋Breakfast was different daily which included bacon, sausage, homemade bread toast, lil pancakes so fluffy, fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs w/cheese, homemade cinnamon and pecan rolls. We only had dinner one of the nights due to other plans we had, it was grilled BBQ chicken, roasted baby potatoes, fresh corn, homemade dinner rolls, and chocolate cake. Everything is homemade and was very tasty. Our room was a nice size with a king size bed which was very comfortable, nice bathroom, ceiling fan, nice view out window, and plenty of outlets. They have a game room in the basement which we also enjoyed. It has pool table, shuffleboard, ping pong table, foosball table, large screen TV, and arcade games. They have beautiful grounds with swings, hammock, and an 18 hole Frisbee golf course. They also have nice indoor pool/hot tub. This was our first time at a bed and breakfast and we will definitely be back again. If I could give 10 stars I would, they deserve all the stars.💯🌟I would highly recommend staying here if your in the area. Patricia and her family will take excellent...
Read moreWe just returned from a two-day family reunion at The Barn. It was wonderful to be able to stay in rooms close to one another and then eat our meals together downstairs. We had hours and hours of good conversation time, while none of us had to worry about meal preparation or clean-up. The food was very good and plentiful. We enjoyed the indoor pool and jacuzzi during part of one day. The proprietress is incredibly friendly and accommodating. She prepared some special food offerings for my husband, because he wasn't going to be able to eat the meal that the rest of us ate. She has some sort of nursing certification which came in handy for one elderly relative who fell and needed some medical attention. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. Bring your own toiletries. ||||Concerns--||1. The nightly rate is higher than we would usually pay for a room and two meals. On the other hand, use of the grounds adds some value. ||2. I couldn't decide whethe decor in the rooms was charming (evocative of rustic, frontier days)...or whether it was just outdated and off-putting. I'm still not sure. Furniture in the bedrooms is old and a bit rickety. Again--maybe intentionally? ||3. The A/C in our room couldn't keep up with the summer heat, so I didn't sleep well. But even with these negatives, we enjoyed two of the nicest, slow-paced, peaceful days in recent memory. We will be back. ||Thank you, Patricia for working so hard to...
Read moreThis was a random fantastic find, located off the beaten path but a great location for meeting in the middle. Food was very good - nothing fancy, just good comfort food (great cheesecake! Great pecan rolls!). Both breakfast and dinner are provided. I think Patricia must do home-baked bread every day. Food is served buffet-style which is great because you can get as much or as little as you want. So: the food gets high marks.||Accommodations: this is a B&B, so no fridge, microwave, tv or phone in room. No matter - they will gladly let you store your goods in the kitchen fridge. They are VERY accommodating. Plus there are cozy living areas upstairs, on the main floor and downstairs. Beds, sheets, towels, etc. all good. Bring your own bar soap if you want it. ||Outside is another great strength. They work REALLY hard to keep up this place! Lovely outdoor seating, plus hammocks, gliding swings, badminton/volleyball and a great 18-hole disc golf course! Beautiful KS prairie sky. So pastoral.||Finally - a really nice indoor pool in super shape plus a hot tub/spa in equally good condition. Everything’s really clean and well maintained.||In summary:...
