Bethel Cannon Ranch — Hotel in Van Alstyne

Amazing place. My wedding here was absolutely perfect.

So here's my experience:

Firstly and most importantly, my now-wife loved it and had an absolutely magical time.

We had our rehearsal dinner in the main lodge (~60 people), the wedding outside in the back yard, and the reception in the chapel.

The main lodge is super upscale and we were able to house all 16 of our wedding party for the weekend. Think of it as something a bougie Ron Swanson would love. Reclaimed wood everywhere. Leather everywhere. garden tubs/spas. Truly a gorgeous space. There are poker tables on the top floor that served for an impromptu texas hold 'em tourney.

The kitchen is spacious and fantastic and made our caterer very happy. The chapel comfortably sat our 150 guests with room for a dance floor and the live band.

My favorite part as the groom was the bunkhouse. It served as a staging area for the groomsmen and we had it stocked with beer, bourbon, scotch and meats. Also has a pool table, foosball, and ping pong. It also served as a "crash space" for several people that weren't comfortable with driving home after our reception. There are 36 bunk beds arranged in rows which were fantastically convenient for this purpose.

Charmin, the venue coordinator, was the sweetest and most helpful person ever. One could not have asked for a better point-person for our wedding. She gave us relatively free reign of the venue for the weekend. There were not a lot of "you-can't-do-that's" although I like to think that all of our requests were quite reasonable. She was flexible with our vendors and saw to it that all of our needs were met, including relocating much of the taxidermy for the weekend.

I highly recommend this space as a wedding venue. The only thing you should be aware of is that cell phone coverage is spotty (my T-mobile connection was virtually non existent although ATT and Verizon got signal). As of this writing, there is only wifi in the main...

Our family stayed here Thanksgiving 2018 and it was an AMAZING time. This ranch has EVERYTHING you’ll need for a good trip. Linens, spaces, rooms, games, grill(gas and wood). The kitchen is huge and they have a bunk house with 21 beds which also has a kitchen. 13-16 beds on the house. It spaces out where everyone can have their own area of leisure. Very open surroundings though it gets very dark at night so I wouldn’t recommend children outside at night. And the property manager (can’t remember her name) was BEYOND accommodating. They have a safe for weapons or expensive personal items. A pool and there’s even a pond (we never made it down there). Great place for any...

I have been to several events at this great retreat and they were all handled exceptionally well. The family that owns and manages this retreat has gone way above board in creating a relaxing atmosphere on a charming and beautiful piece of rural Texas Landscape that should be the envy of any other type of retreat.
