Sandy Springs Campground — Hotel in Vanceburg

My family stayed here a few times last year and we decided to go permanent this year!!! We had planned to stay every week Thursday night thru Sunday and then back home. That didn’t last long tho lol I stay just about everyday. I absolutely love it here!!!

I don’t have much of a yard at my house so I can’t really decorate or do much landscaping. The owners here are amazing!! They have let not only my campsite but all spots decorate and have a lot of landscaping. ( just gotta take it all when we leave 😂) I actually have a gnome garden, lights, mulch around trees, multiple flower pots and we brung in our own fire pit, it’s larger and accommodates not only my large family but all the other campers that have become family❤️❤️❤️.

My campsite overlooks the massive yard they have here for kids to play, playground, large cornhole boards, a spot to play basketball, and volleyball. My kids ride their bikes in that area also so I can see them and know they are not hurt nor running through other campsites. They are young and still learning so being here gives me more opportunities to teach my kids respect. If it be down by the river or in the campground area. There is a list of things we are working on and so far they are doing very well. I want them to know that having respect for others and their property is very important.

My overall rating for sandy springs is excellent. It’s quiet and beautiful!! The view of the river is amazing. The view I have at all times I absolutely love because I can rest and enjoy myself while being able to keep an eye on my kids. The owners are very nice and very easy to talk to. I’m very thankful for that because at some point I know my kids or an adult with my group may break a rule. Even if it’s something as simple as being to loud after quite time. We couldn't be more impressed with our experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a well-organized check-in process. The campsite itself was immaculate, spacious, and perfectly suited for families with children.

The amenities at Sandy Springs are great! The kids absolutely loved the playground and the organized activities, which kept them entertained.

We were particularly pleased with the cleanliness of the restrooms and shower facilities, which were consistently well-maintained. The staff was always friendly and ready to assist with any needs or questions we had, making our stay worry-free.

What really stood out to us was the sense of community and safety at the campground. Other families were friendly, and it was clear that Sandy Springs places a high priority on creating a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. Our children made new friends and created wonderful memories.

Can't say enough good things about this quaint little campground. Located right on the Ohio River, it's a perfect getaway. We stayed in the cabin. It was very clean and comfortable. The decor was so pretty & welcoming. Little extras like the porch is awesome too, picnic table & a swing facing the river was super relaxing. Mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, gas grill, air conditioning and many other extras. The large private bathrooms & hot showers were greatly appreciated as well. They have a nice pavillion and play area for the kids to enjoy. This is not your average seasonal trailer park, it's small so you won't be overcrowded with other campers. You can park your camper, pitch your tent or rent one of their trailers by the night, week or month. Prices are very reasonable too. The owners made us feel at home and like family.
