Stayed on 5/6/22 and 5/7/22 for UMO graduation ceremonies. ||||This hotel was by far the best I've stayed in when I've traveled to the Bangor area. The room was large, clean, and fresh, and the beds were so comfortable I had to pull up the sheet to see the brand (top-rated Sealy pillow top). The hotel was booked solid for graduation weekend, but we didn't hear a sound from any other room nor from the outside. The wifi was easy to sign in to, strong, and consistent. There is good water pressure and - FYI - the water is VERY hot! The windows open for fresh air if wanted (it was still near freezing at night so we kicked on the heat instead). There is a fire pit area to sit around plus a couple seats outside your room if you want to sit outside.||||Due to COVID, there is no coffee maker in the room, but I'd brought one just in case. As it is still considered "winter season" the pool is closed and was being resealed & landscaped during my stay (still too cold to swim!).||||This is a "mom & pop" motel and they are very proud of their business and it shows in the comfort detail. Andy is wonderful and funny, and he makes sure your stay is the best. Considering it was an event weekend and the close proximity to the university, he could have charged an astronomical rate for each night but he didn't; his rates were the lowest in the Bangor area. I also found I can get a much better rate directly through the hotel than through the booking site, which is what I'll be doing very soon.||||Thank you, Andy, for a great weekend stay! P.S. maybe a bigger trash can next time?...
Read moreAfter deciding to get out of town for a long weekend my husband and I settled upon going to Bagor ME, where COVID numbers are within an acceptable range. So the search began for a place to stay. We tend to look for no frills places to save some money and also because we head out during the day. Generally motel accommodations are adequate, even if reviews are hit or miss. So, imagine my surprise when I saw that Stucco Lodge's reviews are brimming with overwhelming praise. Too good to be true, right? Not so! Andy, the owner, was friendly and accomodating from the moment I called to reserve a room until the moment we checked out. His warm personality and friendly conversation helped make up feel right at home. The room was great, too. Comfortable bed, spacious interior, decent pillows (I'm often critical of hotel/motel pillows), and CLEAN! The grounds were neat, and the place was very quiet. Not to mention room-darkeing curtains!
Furthermore, Andy went out of his way to set us up with a bucket of water when we wanted to use the fire pit (off season), he encouraged us to pick apples from the trees on the property (they were delicious! Sweet and juicy) and even sent us home with a Carolina reaper pepper and fresh tomatoes from his garden!
All told, we were there for three nights. We didn't want to leave, but at least now we can look forward to returning next year. What a...
Read moreMy whole experience was amazing! The owner was super nice and always making sure we had everything. The room was very clean.
Due to covid the owner wasn't able to have breakfast but provided us places we can go locally. If we needed our room clean we would have to let him know otherwise he and his staff would not enter the room to help not spread the virus. If we had trash we would just have to put it outside of our door and they would take care of it. All and all very safe place to travel to.
We had a small fire pit and he made sure every day it had wood so me and my significant other could have a nice fire and drinks at the end of the day. The owner is a very kind hard working man who goes out of his way to make sure you stay is the best. Fresh towels, clean pool, clean fire pit area and friendly.
If you do travel this is a great place to stay! We will...
