Best camping experience ever! We camped a lot here this past summer... The camp hosts, Dave and Loretta, are the best people you could possibly come across. The do an excellent job maintaining the park and keeping up with who comes in out. They do their best to keep it a family oriented park - Loretta even started having a day where kids would go to her campsite and paint rocks. Painted rocks and hiding them has become a big camping tradition and it's so fun to see everyone roaming the park looking for them kinda like Easter eggs lol! There are just over 30 sites and the park is very peaceful. There is a small beach and swimming area but the main attraction is going out to the Suislaw River and catching crawdads. I didn't realize what a popular Oregon tradition this was until staying here. We got soooo many crawdads and had a feast! Highly recommend a trip to Whittaker whether it just be for a day trip or a week or two of camping! Can't wait to visit again and to see my new lifetimes friends and camp hosts Dave and Loretta!!...
Read moreSo peaceful and tranquil. Amazing wildlife all around. So many different plants tons of edible berries and stuff for foragers the fishing is excellent and it is just so beautiful. Even when it's raining it's relaxing to hear the rain pitter on top of the tent. Just don't leave any food around or trash. Keep your site very clean. Bears are awake and looking for food sources. We already got paid a visit our third day out here. And other then that they're is so much to explore as long as you're safe about it. Always carry flashlights and some sort of bear spray or protection. Good idea to carry a compass and emergency first aid kit. Also, lots of small trees have been falling across roads so please drive slowly. People also have small animals running freely because of the remote locations of camps please drive...
Read moreSecond time being at Whittaker Creek and I love it! The camp hosts are an amazing couple who do an excellent job making sure things run smoothly and that visitors are taken care of. Took this second trip back in September and finally remembered to give a review. This is an amazing place to bring yourself, family, friends, or have a romantic time away. I highly recommend coming here, experiencing all of what Oregon has to offer has been amazing and I can't wait to experience more! It's beautiful because you really get to see all the beauty and being out in nature is a recharge we can all use, especially now. There are so many campsites and I can't wait to explore more once the weather let's up and Spring and Summer Start. You won't regret coming here and I hope you all enjoy it as much as me and...
