This is your quite cozy northern Michigan resort. This is strictly my opinion and review of the property. The cons... 1-no on-site laundry. This is convenient when staying for 7 days and having kids, we did a beach day, and it would have been nice to wash towels. 2- Map of property is outdated, there is no beach area on Hamlim Lake like described in the map of the property. You can swim only at the pool, which is stated it's heated, but jumping in will tell you otherwise. 3- according to the website, they will drive you up and drop you off in the river to kyak or canoe down the river. We were told that we should not do that on arrival. 4- On the website, it's stated you have a lake view from A frame, we didn't have a lake view from ours 5- 5% fee added to credit cards, cmon very inconvenient. The pros 1- There is plenty of area to fish from the shore, we caught lots of fish shore fishing including some big pike and bass 2- it's quite and very friendly, close to everything and staff is friendly 3- No TV and Internet is great for the kids to actually go outside. 4- plenty of boats to rent, 5- well maintained pool. 6- The best views...
Read moreSunset Bluff Resort is a wonderful place to stay if you need a break from the busy hustle of daily life. We planned our trip to Lake Hamlin for my birthday and I was not disappointed! The owners of the property were very nice and welcoming. The resort was quite and serene. We stayed in the âPentagonâ cabin. The beds were very comfortable, there is a gas fireplace in the living room and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed for cooking our meals. The big window faced the lake and every night we were blessed with a beautiful sunset. Our main reason for this trip was for fishing and it was nice to have a place to return to, after a long day on the water, that felt like home. We would stay here again, the only draw back I can find is that there is not a television and we like to watch the evening news before we go to bed. I would recommend Sunset Bluff Resort to anyone looking to stay on...
Read moreFriendly staff made us feel very welcome and had helpful suggestions for food and fun nearby. Very accommodating, and beautiful, serene setting. Lots of activities to enjoy with the family/the pool, shuffleboard, campfires on the shore and kayaks were some family favorites. Surrounded by all sorts of birds, and lots of chances to unplug and enjoy nature. The cabins were great, fully stocked with all basic needs, and then some, and our experience was delightful, especially our daily check in visits from Frank & his good buddyTucker. Would recommend whole heartedly to anyone looking for a great place to relax. Oh, and catching the sunsets in the adirondacks down on the...
