Wadley Inn — Hotel in Wadley

I've stayed her several times and for several days. I've only stayed here while in Georgia on family business, it's the closest hotel to my in-laws property. The property is inexpensive and very clean. Housekeeping is excellent. The rooms are very large and comfortable, but could be updated and there's not much choice on television. Air-conditioning is excellent. The ice machine doesn't work, you have to go to the front office for ice. They only give the bare minimum of towels, and the towels are as rough as sandpaper and thin as a paper towel. There is no lobby, the owners have turned the lobby into their living quarters. When you check-in you do so in a small vestibule between the front door and what would have been the lobby door. They no longer offer breakfast since the lobby is no longer available to the public. The location is excellent, there's a Family Dollar right in front where you can get snacks and such. Overall, it is what it is. Inexpensive, clean, convenient and relatively comfortable. In town for a family reunion, and rented 3 rooms at Wadley Inn for 2 nights (8/18-20, 2017). Taking my shower at 8:30 AM on Saturday morning, had soaped myself up good, shampoo in hair -- and water STOPPED. My husband went to hole-in-the-wall front desk, and was told that the City of Wadley was making repairs, and water would be off from 8:30 - 11:30 AM. Then the guy showed my husband a letter the City of Wadley had sent out, informing everyone about the shut down. Do you think the hotel bothered to inform us of this when we checked in on Friday, so we could plan our showers early? Heck, NO! Not one word of warning. The guy at the hole-in-the-wall front desk gave my husband a gallon jug of water for me to rinse off with. I can't tell you how MAD I am!! Most hotels I stay at have a heavy old odor but this hotel smelled clean the bed sheets and carpet where clean and I was satisfied by my stay. The only real complaint is the fact that in the bathroom the ceiling had significant water damage as if a leak from the upstairs was happening in which it was a blue color with some mold. Didn't see mold anywhere else in bathroom so I assume it is just a discoloration from water damage but still isn't pretty when taking a shower...
