We stayed here 4 nights on our first visit to the Oregon coast. It is very conveniently located in Waldport just off highway 101.
The park itself is pretty standard with about a dozen full hookup sites along the water and another 25-30 sites away from the water. We were in the row just away from the water. The sites are pretty wide but still feel a bit close to your neighbors because there is no barrier between the sites. All sites have a picnic table and room for a vehicle.
The camp hosts are super nice. They stopped by as we were unhooking our trailer to see if we had any questions or needed anything. They also have a nice little store with propane tank filling on site but the town of Waldport is very close and has a grocery store, dollar store, and Ace hardware.
You can rent boats all set up for crabbing from them and you can have them cook your crabs for you ($1/crab). We didn't take advantage of this but heard other guests talking about how they got 29(!) crabs that day! There is also clam digging near by.
Only ding is the showers require coins so they are not included in the cost. There is also only one shower in the men's and two in the women's restroom. We decided to shower in our RV instead.
Overall, for booking last minute, it was a really good spot. Not sure if we would come back since the real draw is the access to crabbing which is not really our thing. But if we are coming through again and the state parks are full but we needed a place to stay overnight, we...

It was clean, but overall a bad experience. Right when we got there and were directed to our spot. It was taken by someone else . They did nothing about it, and gave us a terrible spot in the middle when we had originally payed for a spot with a bay view.
The workers were rude & disrespectful. Whilst sleeping in my tent, they were hammering away and just making so much noise right at 7:00AM. The noise level is supposed to be down by 9:00pm-7:00am I think, but I still think it was rather insensitive to be so loud, so early, RIGHT outside of our tent. They also talked trash about other guests in front of the tent, as well.
They did not say anything about extremely loud neighbors & my friend was walked into in the restroom by an unsupervised child.
There are only two showers & toilets in the restroom — even it was an RV park, some of these toiletries don’t work for some RV’s/campers + those of us in the tents.
Many people flashed their lights into the tent for a long while , and made us feel unsafe. Having these spots so close together felt very uncomfortable. The actual camping ground was also very far from where RV’s could park, which made everyone in our party uneasy and made it much of a hassle
We couldn’t even bother to stay 5 days, and have just left on the third . There are much betters spots to stay than here 💗✨
P.S. it smells a regurgitated...
Read moreWe didn't stay at the RV park but did the crab fishing on the harbor! It was a blast, and I'm so glad we did it!
They have everything for you to be a successful crab fishing man for the day.
The crab fishing is 3 hours, and we paid around $130 per boat. Between both boats we rented, we all caught hundreds of crabs! We ended up keeping 22 male crabs that met the size requirement to keep and eat.
In the end, we had them cook the 22 crabs for convenience and paid .75 cents per crab to cook. Be aware you must kill, and clean the crabs! They have the stations to do this, but if you're not a strong stomach person, you might not enjoy that step!
My suggestion to improve for staff is give better instructions! We never were given great boat instructions on how to drive the boat, and tips like putting the motor into neutral when your coming up on the crab line. If you don't, you will most likely run over the line and kill the motor and be stuck until staff can help you!
Overall, it was an amazing experience, and we...
