Fantastic location for outdoor exploring. We took our boat and spent the day on Lake Jocassee touring the 8+ waterfalls that are only accessible by the water, brilliant time. Spent the next day hiking various trails, Station Cove Falls amongst them. Would definitely recommend that, nice and short, not strenuous, very pretty. Tons to do within easy distance, hiking, kayaking etc. The campground was fine, not the nicest one I’ve been to but definitely not the worst. The bathhouses weren’t very clean and not in the best shape either. Either than that the campground was good. Pretty tight roads to have a 38’+ rig setup if that’s what your running. Camp sites are fine though, variety of different spots, we only had 30amp, not sure if other larger sites had 50’s.

We stopped here for a few days to relax on our way home from TN. The interior road are a bit tight and rough but our site 25 was level and long enough for both our trailer and truck (50'). The fall is so beautiful with all the color. There is a step down to the gravel picnic table, fire pit area. We had plenty of space and didn't feel crowded in but I'm sure during prime time it can feel that way.

Gorgeous mountain campground with Lake Jocassee as the main attraction (one of the cleanest lakes around). Nice wooded, shaded lots with firepits (grill rack attached) electric & water hookups & level areas for tents & RVs. Beach is VERY busy on summer weekends, but there's a nice drop-in spot for kayaks and nice boat launches as well. We'll be returning next year!

We just tent camped here for the first time, SUCH a beautiful location! Most of the tent sites are right on the water which is awesome. Each tent site is pretty spacious and overall seems to be semi-well kept. You can't park next to your site, you have to haul your stuff in, but we actually love that because it makes it more private! We got site #18, and it was wonderful, we only had people to our left, complete privacy & the lake to our right! Overall we loved our stay, we're definitely coming back.

A few realistic negatives:

Unfortunately our site was not inspected or cleaned before we arrived (which I thought was the whole point of having 2 hours in-between check out and check in, and the $$$ cost of tent camping here isn't cheap). There was a good amount of trash I had to clean up which wasn't that big of a deal. BUT there were also two humongous puddles of congealed bacon fat right where our tent should have gone. I think whoever stayed before us must have cooked and they left a mess behind that attracted lots of bugs. They had also left behind an oily mess all over the table. We had to leave & go buy a bucket, scrub brush and some soap at a nearby convenience store just so we could use it without getting oil all over our clothes or items.

To be quite honest it was kind of gross and really annoyed me that I had to clean up such a big mess, especially with no trash can nearby.

There's a water spigot at the tent site parking lot. There's a double sink too, but it's been completely neglected by staff, so it's crazy dirty and the water line was unhooked making it unusable for any guests.

The bathrooms aren't too far, a decent walking distance from most of the tent sites. They're not super well maintained, and for some they might seem pretty gross, but it was good enough for me. I've been to other countries where bathroom situations are pretty nasty, so it's made me less picky haha. I really think it's less maintenance and more the fact that they're just old, they really need to be...

Lake Jocassee and the surrounding area is beautiful. The water is super clear especially to be a lake. Not as clear but I’d compare to waters on gulf side of Florida You can easily see eight foot into the water. As far as campgrounds go these were pretty nice. I can’t speak to tent sites. We stayed on the RV sites. The campground area is one way so you can’t really get lost. You may have to loop around though :) The bathhouse was clean and well maintained. On the men side there are two showers. Assuming women’s are the same. There is two washers and two dryers on the back side of the bathhouse. The dryers were $1 in quarters. I didn’t pay attention to washer. Dryer closest to the door was best of two. I have four stars instead of five because the camp sites had trash on them. They were small bits like bottle caps and such but I picked up at least ten off our site. There were bags of trash in the laundry area which seem to have been there awhile. The sites were tight but would hold two cars and a trailer if you were using a tent and not a camper. I saw 24 foot campers or so on some sites. The spot held camper and truck...

Nice campground. We booked RV site #3 which was close to the lake although it’s a short walk down a wide trail to get there. Bathhouse was clean with large shower stalls and what seemed to be endless hot water which was nice. Our site had water and electricity but no sewer. I don’t think any of the sites here have sewer but they do have a dump station. The lake is the real highlight here. We brought paddle boards and kayaks and enjoyed our experience. We decided to leave them overnight at the beach below our campsite like many others and that worked out well for us rather than carrying them back up the trail each day. We brought E-bikes and there’s quite a few miles of road inside the park to ride on and explore but not any biking trails close by that we could find. The tree cover was great for the shade during the day but it also kept us from getting a stable WiFi signal with our Starlink so we needed to cut our trip short due to work reasons. We were able to get a cellular signal to make calls with our WeBoost...
