Bedbugs are what we experienced. Rented a cabin for a week. 1 night sleeping in our lawn chairs. Until day break, and we could find a laundry mat. The cabins are very hard to get to and hard on your vehicle. I have nothing good to say about this place. I've never been so disappointed. The pool was also under some sort of warning and unavailable.

Really liked this place! Crazy driveway up to my site(b-09), but once up there it was a beauty. Slight drainage issue between 9 and 11. Site was pushing it for a 37'er. Made it work and had a great weekend. Will return!!

My last stay at Rosemount was May of 2023, while it was being transitioned to new ownership. Since the pandemic, Rosemount was plagued by changes in ownership, staff, and dwindling attendance. My sons and I had camped here at least once or twice a year since 2016, and witnessed all the changes. On May 17, 2024, I returned with my two sons, my good friend and his sons, and my best friend, who took a solo tent site near the cabin we rented. I'd like to preface the remainder of this review by comparing my latest stay with past visits and highlight the good and bad. Last May, the Camp Store/Office was under renovation and inaccessible for some time. Imagine to my surprise upon arrival to find the new camp store/office looking completely different: they expanded the space and removed a lot of the previous clutter. They added a new coffee station (a very nice touch!) and kept an old favorite, the slushie machine. The selection of goods at the camp store was minimal, but this was undoubtedly due to the ongoing transition and I was told they will re-stock the shelves very soon.||THE GOOD: ||Customer Service. Upon arrival, I was greeted by "Skye," a young woman in charge of the store/office. I had spoken to her previously by phone and she was quite helpful in answering my questions. We chatted for a while about the new owners, who own resort properties in Boston and New York. Skye informed me that they visit often and like to keep their hand in their new investment. Skye turned out to be a treasure: sweet, helpful, and accommodating. Skye was everything her predecessor was not! For several years, Rosemount employed a middle-aged woman who was just about the most miserable character I had ever met! She clearly did not like her job, and treated guests with visible disdain, as if it was a terrible inconvenience that she had to answer a question or ring up a sale. I forget her name, no doubt blocking it out of my consciousness, but it might have been Wanda or Wendy or something like that. Anyway, the woman's attitude was poor, and she sounded like she had just smoked 37 packs of cigarettes; not the first person your customers should have to deal with! First impressions are vital, and I wouldn't be surprised to learn if she drove people away. Glad she is gone. Skye also informed me that she and her husband are also season employees who stay at the campground and can be reached for emergencies. This is an excellent idea, and having people there all season with their hands in the business can only help. We also met "Bernie," another female employee who was very friendly and helpful, even loaning us an air pump to inflate the beds in our cabin. Speaking of cabins....we always rent Cabin #5, being a fan of its location. Last year, it was in a loft style, with the rooms open at the top. They installed a heater, which did not work in 2023, but worked perfectly this time. They also closed off the "loft" and put up paneling, effectively separating all rooms with walls. This addition and a new interior paint job gave the cabin a more "homey" look.||THE BAD:||There really wasn't much "bad" about the place! We all had a fantastic time and my sons and I agreed it was one of the best camping trips we've had. Having said that, there were a few "bad" things to mention: for some reason, the camp store, advertised as closing at 8:00 pm, closed much earlier than that on a Saturday night! While this is not peak season, Memorial Day Weekend is two weeks away and there were plenty of people to merit full hours. I sent my sons to the store to buy an item we had forgotten at around 7:20 pm, thinking they had plenty of time before the store closed. They returned several minutes later, explaining that the store was closed. If you're going to advertise opening and closing times, you should endeavor to stick to them unless an emergency or other exigent circumstances forces an early closure. The game room is in need of newer and better games. The pool table is in good shape, but the cue sticks need replacing as they barely have any felt left on them. My final gripe is the exterior paint job they did on the Office/Sore and cabins. Rosemount had always been painted in a rust orange color, and whenever we saw it driving up the driveway, we knew we were back! It has since been painted a very drab dark grey, giving the buildings the appearance of a bunch of bunkers! There is also some intricate woodworking on the main building, and the rust red always seemed to bring out these details. Now all you see is drab grey. There doesn't seem to be any "practical" reason for the change of paint, as they always kept up on the paint jobs, so I suspect this was a whim of the new owners. ||OVERALL:||Overall, I had a great stay at Rosemount and I expect good things from the new owners. Replacing the old harridan with a friendlier woman as their point of contact will undoubtedly go very far in giving new visitors a great first impression. We plan to return in October for their Halloween festivities and I really hope they are better than they have been the last few years post-Covid. When my sons and I were here in October 2017 and 2018, the place was packed! Every seasonal site was decorated and they had great fun and games for the kids. I would love to see Rosemount packed like that again, with people having a wonderful time. I virtually grew up here, as my late aunt and uncle had a seasonal site, and I visited often. I love this place and hope one day my kids will bring their own kids here and continue...

A back road way to get there, surprised us.. ||||If you are coming from Rt. 78/Rt.61 intersection, use your GPU device, and allow it to send you to Rt.895 (a right turn exit) through the back roads to the campground. It was a treat to see unique buildings, darkened tree covered roads, and a section of rising hills that had me catching my breath. The best part of the driving, is that it was not the fast paced driving that is on Rt. 61 North, but a more lazy approach with no one in front or behind you.||||I too had witnessed the weekend Tramp Family Singers, at site C row (site #5), and it is annoying as hell. We come here to enjoy what nature has to offer, with a heaping of peace and quiet, but they have no respect for your personal space.||||That being said, we moved down to B row and it was much better. We tent camped on B row, site #7, and it was a really good move. The site is about 30' wide and 40 ft. deep, and it was more that enough for our needs. Besides our tent space, we had plenty of room for my Town and Country van, Barbs HHR, a 10'x10' shelter over the picnic table, and a fire ring with plenty of seating space. Also, plenty of elbow room.||||A great playground for the kids, a really nice "T" shaped pool, really nice details in landscaping, lots of colorful flowers, a really great bathroom, and plenty of shade all through the resort. People were friendly and helpful, and no issues with excessive noise. Lots of activities for kids and adults.||||Heislers Ice Cream stand (only a mile away), gave us a chance to step away from our 7 hours of rain. Really good food, great banana split, and lots of other activities to do there. Keep in mind that they take only cash, and not plastic.||||About 7 miles away is Rt.61, along with Wendy's, KFC, McDonalds, and a Ruby Tuesday. There are several malls nearby, and Cabella's is right down the road.||||As for camping, B row, sites 5, 6, 7, 8, along with C row site 8 are five of the sites that we really liked. There are many other that are just as good, but these were just the ones we encountered daily.||||Take the time to drive up there, on the weekend. Stop at the office, get a campground map and brochure, and take a look at the camping sites. Write down 10 or more sites that meets your needs, and list them from 1 to 10. This way, when you call up to reserve a site, and the first 3 are taken, you have others that will do just fine. Look at site shade, level site, space and elbow room, distance to the bathrooms and activities area, and water drainage.||||In doing this, you can eliminate about 95% of the headache's that could spoil your weekend. ||An added tip from us? We take along a box fan, to circulate the air in our tent at night, which also drowns out most noises from surrounding sites. It is also handy on those 80 plus degree days, while sitting outside as it blows on your legs.||||Rosemount Camping Resort, spends lots of time in making their facility a great place to relax and enjoy your family and friends. We had a wonderful time, and we hope that you have the same.||The best to you...

This Father's Day weekend, my three cousins, myself, and my 6-year-old son returned to Rosemount Camping Resort for the weekend after a long absence. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by MaryGrace and Diane, who explained all the policies and answered all our questions. After setting up my own campsite, I began to help my cousin set up her tent, and we discovered the tent was damaged and unusable. My cousin returned to the office and asked whether Rosemount sells tents; instead, Diane offered us her own personal tent to use for the weekend! She even left the site, went home, and brought it right to us! This level of customer service is above and beyond what was expected, so a huge shout out to Diane! What struck me most as I explored the campground was the overall cleanliness of the place. Rosemount has the cleanest restrooms and bath house I have ever seen! The sites are spacious and wooded, with enough distance from your neighbors. The camp store is very well-stocked, and the prices quite reasonable, unlike many other camp stores that gouge you. Firewood is plentiful and also reasonable. Rosemount always has activities planned for the weekends, and this weekend included both a live band and a Father's Day breakfast. Both were excellent. This was my son's first camping trip, and he was in awe of all the stuff there was for him to do: two playgrounds, swimming pool, and game room. ||||On a more personal note....||||I used to camp at Rosemount often when I was a kid. I came up for an afternoon last year to check it out. I was amazed how many good memories just walking around familiar ground evoked. I had my first kiss here, my first exposure to live music, which led to a lifelong love of music, and I also began my appreciation of Nature here. My cousins, who camped with me back then and now just a few days ago, also loved their recent stay at Rosemount. We have even decided to get together every Father's Day and camp here. I cannot recommend this campground enough! Rosemount has been in business for over 50 years; after returning, it's easy for...
