Absolutely the most ridiculous campsite ever. Didn’t tell you but they do charge your( $10 for dumping station). Spot are extremely small some of them you can’t even fit even though we are required to put down your trailer size. All sides are back in our spots are extremely weird we paid for it but we can’t seems to find the office so we have to park at our friends place. It’s weird that You can’t find the office and the map is incorrect at all. Here’s the creek they’re talking about. Our side is extremely small and our car got scratched on the way to the side it’s very hard to turn add some spots even you doing have a small camper. Also lots of mosquitoes. End it feels are covered with ants nest. I was fun with all that the thing that sent me off was that they charge for $10 on a stupid dumping station. It’s very faded and hand written on the dumping station sign. Some random people would just walk to you and ask for $10 for the dumping station. I’m not even sure if she works here because it looks like she does.

Greenhorn Meadows Park camp site is the best within 1 hour drive range of great sand dunes. Most of the campsites here do not have electric, even for RV sites, let alone water supply and showers. The Greenhorn Meadows park have several sites that provides all you need. Site #2,5 provides electric, shared water supply (old fashioned pump) with other sites, and clean bathrooms with hot showers! Yah! Strong cellphone signals: 4G LTE, a big PLUS!Some notes for electric users. The power outlet is for standard RV, you will need an adapter to convert it to standard 120v wall outlet. There is an ACE hardware store within 2 miles range where you can buy it easily. There is one public big dumpster, a little far fetched, but there will be a big trash can inside bathroom too. I give this campsite 10 out of 10 points comparing all campsites here. Other sites with same conditions are booked months away to next year!

We stayed just over two months in this park. The park is large with generous room in most spaces. Large grassy areas for football games or just to toss a Frisby around. Speaking of Frisby, the county's Frisby golf course is adjacent. You'll drive through to access the campground. Staff is friendly and accommodating. They gave us an area of about a quarter acre (not usually assigned) because we needed close space to park two trailers. Water and electric are available at a few select sites but spigots are available throughout the park. We are self contained with composting toilets, solar and Lithium batteries and didn't even need to run a generator. Lots of wildlife, especially deer, walk through in the evenings. We plan to return for a month every year (August-September). Park is now open year round. Showers and restrooms are clean and stocked. Poor cell service. No playground.

This place is awesome! A group of us have camped here for the past few years; the camp host Sherrie (and Hawk) is awesome. If we ever need anything or there is a problem, she is there to help. Sites are great (non and electric sites available). Shower house (kept very clean) on site. And local stores are just down the road if you forgot something. Also, if you are planning a large gathering, there are pavilions, etc. that can be rented as well. Lake Beckwith and Lake San Isabel are very close for fishing or kayaking, etc.

Memorial Weekend (or any holiday weekend) the sites are full. Unfortunately this year, some campers thought it was ok to pay for one spot and put up about 15 tents. They were very loud, inconsiderate of neighbors (partied until about 4 am and back up by 6am ~ loud music and very loud talking) and very messy. They left the shower house a mess! They were very rude to the camp host when she asked for additional fees and also they were cursing at her when the toilet paper was out in the shower houses. The good host that Sherrie is, came and talked other campers to ensure they were ok and apologized for the lack of consideration of the "other" group.

If passing through this way, I recommend you try it out. We will definitely return to this "little slice...

Reserved a spot that claimed you could fit 2 tents. The ground was not level for one tent. BUT!!! We arrived and parked, we went to the camp host to ask about getting into another spot for the weekend. The host was visibly drunk. They had 2 open 24 packs. We asked about getting another spot, the host said he could not help and we would have to call the number. Asked the host for the number. He could not provide the number and told us just to look it up. My brother then made the statement, "You're worthless." The host then got up, started yelling our family's, charging at us, and saying he was going to call the sheriff. We left and called the office number. At this point I told the person at the office the host was drunk, yelling, and acting aggressive. The person at the office then called the host and called me back. The office stated they were not drunk (hard to tell without seeing them in person). Due to my family not feeling safe staying at the campground, I asked for my money back. The office said no refunds. This is a joke of a campground. The lots are not big enough for 2 tents. The host is aggressive and cannot provide simple information to solve a problem. DO...

I have no idea where I stayed but clearly it wasn’t the ā€œquietā€ campground others were talking about. Or maybe they were staying in RV’s. But here is a tent campers perspective. Quiet hours start at 10 pm. When we arrived back to the campsite at 10:30, we were met by a loud generator running. No big deal, even though I assume addressing this kind of thing is the campground hosts job. At one point I fell asleep and was woken up by the same group with the generator playing very loud music. Again, where were the campground hosts??? I didn’t sleep at all that night until the group of revelers finally went to bed in the wee hours of the morning. We were scheduled for two nights but we left first thing the next morning. Oh…and also, it is incredibly close to a highway, so expect lots of traffic sounds. There was also a really weird big explosion sound in the middle of the night. The site was large and really lovely and there was a shower. However, there is a wasp problem in there. Will.never.stay.here.again. And do not...
