...then you'll want to give this a higher rating.|This was a tough one to rate. Here's why. The grounds and setting are quite nice, with a mountain brook sloshing along the roadside in front. It seems nicely kept on the outside.|The rooms have been "upgraded", with a new coat of paint and fixtures. I was actually shocked at the 4-post bed!|Beyond that, I would never recommend it.|The office was the least professional I've ever seen, and the 2 guys that ran it were NOT (they said) the owners, and were not particularly friendly. |The tub was partially clogged so that when I ran the water to try getting it hot for a shower, it started filling up. After a couple of minutes of still getting cold water, and the tub filling, I turned it off to let the water run out. Then I turned it on again and let it run for a full 10 minutes, with NO change in the temperature, and the tub 1/2 full! I then checked the sink faucet with the same result (COLD). |The next morning I mentioned it to the manager on duty. He went in a back room, came back in a couple of minutes and said, "It's working. You just have to let it run for 20 minutes or so. The guy in #1 has been here two weeks, and he hasn't said anything." From what I had heard of the guy hacking and banging around in "#1", he may have LIKED cold showers! Or none at all. What about OTHER guests?|Then to top it off, $100 for a small, remote, cold-water motel, with no breakfast. A short 5-mile drive back to Sussex would have been...

I stayed here while hiking the NJ sections of the Appalachian Trail. I was very happy with my visit. We had 2 rooms, and a problem in one was immediately handled by moving people to a different room. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The property is gorgeous. The management is friendly and helpful. The shower is hot with good water pressure. My bed was very comfortable. There is a lot of outdoor seating/tables to enjoy the location. I expect to stay here again to finish up the AT.||||It is only a 10 minute drive to Port Jervis, where you have good access to restaurants and other facilities. This is literally 2 minutes to the High Point park and monument. There are 2 restaurants down the road if you really want...
