I discovered the Warren Falls Inn through skiing friends and now want to stay there whenever I'm in central Vermont. Cozy and comfortable but clean and well-maintained, not one of those quaint and charming but a little too funky places. Love the fully outfitted and spacious kitchen, the big table, the great living room with the fireplace, board games, stone and natural wood, the deck in warm weather, and the comfortable rooms. Oh, and the friendly cat -- it's just outside, so don't let that scare you off if you're not a cat person. The hosts are accommodating and helpful but not imposing or nosy. Go in the summer or early fall to hike down to the falls, or go in the winter to ski either at the resorts or backcountry or XC. Do know it's not a full-service hotel or inn, but more a lodge with a kitchen you can use to make your meals and save money, and shared baths. I've never run into a crowd there, though I tend to avoid high-traffic times and weekends. About the only less than perfect thing is maybe the parking area, which, because it has a little incline to the highway, can be slightly sketchy on icy days without four-wheel-drive, but I have never gotten stuck. Don't let that...
Read moreMy husband was cycling the 6 gaps and I was checking on him every few hours to make sure he had food and water etc. I stopped here because the reviews mentioned how friendly and open the owners were and I thought I could pay (like buy a coffee or a tshirt or just even straight up cash, etc) to access their lobby/lawn area to wait for my husband for a few hours before our next meet up. I also looked on their website and saw they were open for business.
The male owner was not very open nor friendly. It is his right to turn me away as a business owner, I definitely agree, but he could have done so in more of a polite friendly way. He made it seem like I wanted to rob the place. Anyways, I am just sharing my experience with the owner. It's a shame because we come to Vermont often and maybe would have been actual sleeping guests in the future as the location is quite nice, but definitely not now.
I also don't know why the positive reviews say it is a hostel because the owner was quite upset when I mentioned "hostel."
He told me he was newly staining the decks so I guess any future guests....the decks will be newly stained, if that's a...
Read moreI don't like leaving bad reviews but it is needed for this business.
The owner of this Inn is extremely unprofessional.
I wish I hopped online to read google reviews before I decided to move forward and book. Very much like the other 1 star review I will agree and say there is NO internet connection. Do not plan on having cell phone service either.
The reason I am leaving a 1 star is because we booked on air B and B and had a major miss-communication. I paid an additional fee to air B and B via our app because we had an additional guest. Two weeks after our stay the owner charged us another $90.
Sure the scenery is beautiful but paying $199 for a one night stay is not acceptable. This is not a 5 star hotel.
if you decide to book here, which I do not recommend. I would request a detailed contract before signing and an agreement that you will have working...
