As a parent, I’m heartbroken and deeply concerned. This was our third stay at Kemp Dels. In the past, we’ve loved coming here—our family always looked forward to the fun environment and family-friendly atmosphere. Until now, we’ve never had anything negative to say. Unfortunately, that changed this weekend. During our stay, I noticed a troubling increase in the number of unsupervised children riding electric scooters at very high speeds throughout the campground. It was clearly unsafe—but things took a devastating turn when my 5-year-old son was hit by one of these fast-moving scooters, ridden by another young boy near the playground swings—an area filled with small children. My son suffered head injury that bled heavily, along with multiple scrapes on his arms and legs. It was terrifying for him, his siblings, and for us as parents. After being checked out by an ER nurse and having the bleeding controlled, I immediately called the main office to report what happened. I provided the site number and even the name of the teenager involved. But I received no follow-up. Nothing. The next morning, when I came to the office to follow up in person, the manager on duty had no idea what I was talking about. This lack of internal communication is unacceptable, especially in the case of an injured child. While we had planned to stay another day, we had no choice but to leave so my son could get further medical care. He also could not participate in the pool or water areas due to his head wound. Instead of a refund or serious concern, I was offered arcade tokens and a partial refund for the extra people at our site. While I appreciate the attempt to make amends, it completely missed the gravity of the situation. Even more troubling, the staff told me there was nothing they could do about the electric scooters. I understand that kids want to have fun, but where is the safety policy? Does a child need to suffer a worse injury—or worse—for something to be done? I’m writing this not out of anger, but out of concern. Kemp Dels has been a place we enjoyed, but until they address this serious safety hazard and improve their internal communication and emergency response, I cannot recommend it for families with young children. Please, take this seriously—before another child gets hurt.

I am very sad to to write this review because I stayed here 3 years ago and loved it and couldn’t wait to come back. I came here with my husband and 4 kids. The place is way to crowed now. The camp sites are on top of each other. The staff and security are very rude and not caring about their campers. My nine-year-old son and my five-year-old son got attacked by some other seasonal campers and the security officers brushed it under the rug. At night time at 11 o’clock you are required to be quiet you cannot play beanbags or listen to music quietly. Me and a few of the neighbors that we met over the weekend we’re quietly having a bonfire listening to music that you cannot even hear at the campsite next to you. We were warned once and the Security returns again the music was almost all the way off that you could literally just hear the music in the background and if you were talking it was louder than the music in the background and it was coming from inside of his camper not a radio outside. Then the security come back the next time while we are playing bags and he told us that we cannot play anymore and that if he had to come again we would not want to see what happened. If anybody knows me and my family were very respectful people i am a property manager so I fully understand the respect of quiet hours. They continued to harass us all night till we just went to bed. The next day the same secerity guard was very rude to my kids at petting zoo. They did have fun activities for the kids but were not social distancing at all nothing there was keeping anyone 6 feet away. They had signs up but was not following it at all. We are never going back to this camp ground. We will go spend our money at other resorts. This place is over priced and too expensive for the horrible customer service. Sad thing is that we complained to the owners and they didn’t care at all. This is a picture of the kid event from last night. Like a 100 kids in same place.

First time at Kamp Dels, and knowing what we know now we’ll be back with better insight on where to go. Plus sides: there is a TON of stuff to do mainly free, but some are reasonably priced activities. They have daily activities for all ages. The morning announcements make me feel like I’m 12 years old again at summer camp. 🏕️ Facilities are descent, the bathrooms/showers but the main office are the best as you can shower without getting your stuff wet. The fact you can charge practically everything is nice (and terrible) because you don’t have to carry cash or card with you everywhere. The terrible part of that… before you know It… BAM, $200 invoice (self inflicted). The biggest negative of the campground: The roads are super narrow and confusing. If fine pulling our pop up and helped 3 other campers through tight spaces and backing into their lot (previous truck driver)… but for someone who isn’t well versed in trailering… I’m surprised there isn’t more “accidents”. The roads are also confusing are some are 1 ways… some are 2 ways but the road is the same width. So maybe some redesign of the traffic flow through the park would help? Can’t count how many times I went the wrong way on a one way, or thought it was one way but it was 2 way. The children running around made it so I didn’t want to be face down in the map so I just went where I thought it was supposed to go. 🤣 As the weekend approached, the lots/spaces are pretty close and packed in (pic of “day 2” shows 2 empty lots)… this makes your neighbors practically family (we had a good set of neighbors and a crappy set of neighbors. 50% is a failing grade. 😉). It was nice to see the quiet hours are ACTUALLY enforced. It nice to party on the weekends… but it’s also nice to be able to sleep at 2am without drunk neighbors whooping it up until 5am. It was truly relaxing.

Kamp Dels||||Worth the read!||||Charges:||They charged us half of what my cousin next to us got charged and we got the same thing but mine should have been more because I had 3 more adults. And it was 500$ for 3 nights. We should have just went and rented out a house. ||On the last day we went up to get our bills fixed and it took 40 min for them to figure out the issue, wrote down the totals and said we'll charge the cards at 11 am when the other guy comes in. At 11am we went back up for our receipts and it took them another 20 min to figure it out. He wanted to send us away saying. I'll figure it out and email it to you. I said no that doesn't work for me I'll take it now. He said what would you like me to do. So I had to spell it out for him and said "I want you to take the full amount your charging me, subtract the deposit, then subtract the payment I made when I came on Friday, and now tell me what I owe today, run that amount on my card right now and give me the receipt and do the same for the other site we had too. It's not hard. However you have to do it in your computer you figure it out, I just want to go home. I'll wait" he said your right it's not hard. I said start over completely if you want I don't care. I just want my receipts. (They couldn't even figure out math and how simple it was. What are they going to do if there computers ever fail totally) it was painfully funny to endure both times I sat through Watching with my bill!||||Night time:||So at night get ready to be harassed every 30 minutes to a hour by workers trying to bully you to bed every night if you choose to stay up past 11pm. And they pick out the 1 drunk guy in your group to try and cope with when the sober one is saying "hey I'm sober. I don't drink. Can you please answer and talk to me" but they are rude to you and refuse. They pick at the drunk guy. But that was every night. All 3 nights. 1st time they come it is 1guy. 2nd time 2guys. 3rd time 3guys come. 4th time 4guys. 5th time 4guys come. They start at 11pm telling people to turn off all music (even on the phone turned way down. Even watching a video outside. Even if your humming/singing together, lol he said no/off, now). Of course we complied though.||At 12am they say time for bed and then start tying to reason with you about coming back for a time when it's going to be all over at. At 12:30/1am they will come back a 3rd time and start bullying again. And say put it out now and throw a fit when you don't completely comply. So they say "I'll be back in 15 min and we are done, fire goes out and you are all going to bed". So at 1:15 perfectly on time their gang comes to harass you adults to go to bed. He screams I'm not leaving until your fires out and your all in bed. I tell him to shhhhhh! And now the drunk guy who paid 500$ to be here gets his wood doused with water and is livid. And some of us drop off every time they come because they are so rude and don't want to deal with it but I'm sober and an adult and No one is going to put me to bed. All the adults there are waisted all day and not watching their kids. And now I know why. We talk to all our neighbors plus we are there with about 10 other scattered around sites and every neighbor couldn't believe what they were doing saying we weren't even loud. We had no music and a small fire with a few people. I kept walking 5 away to go pee and I couldn't hear our group any of the nights. And we weren't even all at 1 fire either.||||* And throughout every interaction the non-drinker asks respectively (me) where in your rules or on the website does it say adults have a bed time by 1am and you guys go around harassing repeatedly trying to cause problems starting at 11pm and bully them them to bed???? Maybe you should be more transparent or be more humble and kind with your discretion. No one is being loud and belligerent. But I was ignored. Because if it had sad that on line or had I been warned about the worker's behavior after 11pm we wouldn't have came. We ourselves had 2 spots. The guy we knew who invited us had like 8 spots with him and needless to say none of us and anyone we know will ever come to ||Camp Hels. ||||The workers/people:||Some shouldn't work with the public. But they are all family! All related just about! And they let you know it! Some of them also let you know that they aren't saposed to be working but that they are there working anyways! So I put money in for the batting cages. Nothing happened so i swiped the playing card again. A guy and lady walk out. I said excuse me. Im not sure im doing it right but i think it took my money. She yelled at me that "we are having problems, dont I see that, give us some time". So i waited. It looked like they were going to leave so i told the guy what happened to my card and he said sure we'll refund it. The last ones not working. (But they didnt put a sign on it) and he told the lady to deal with my refund. And she came and yelled at me again. I tried to explain myself but there's no talking to her. Pretty sure she was drunk. She said stay right here. Ill be back. I waited for 30 min for a refund at the batting cages. Come to find out no one works up there. She went to the office to get a refund. But I had to call the front desk to see if someone was even coming back. And he asked her while holding the phone "do you got people waiting on you up there? We'll get going there still waiting." When she got back she yelled "so who's waiting on me!" Like she didn't ask me to stay put like a dog. And was rude again. But I got a new card and 20 new mosquito bites.||||There was other little things that were observed and overhead from other guests like at the pool, concert, petting zoo and other places too. We couldn't mention them all. We are very social and people loved all the stuff to do but hated the way they were all treated. We talked to a few seasonal owners and they say they get treated the same and hate it. ||||The sites/cleanliness/activities:||Lifeguards were nice. Business and all activities inside the campground ran smoothly and weren't awful at all. The kids enjoyed themselves using the amenities and activities. The bathrooms were ok and pretty clean. Some trash cans had overflowing garbage and a lot all over after events. I never saw anyone picking it up. But you could always see someone riding a golf cart being bossy. It was nice to see they gave their zoo animals long breaks from feeding and petting. Some of the birds looked like they had Veterinarian feather/skin illnesses. They call it a petting zoo but there's really no petting. ||||Recommendations:||Don't ever go. Or camp next door or close or get a house then just pay for a day pass if you can.||||If CAMP DELS is reading this you should be more transparent on your site and train your family/workers to be more kind and just walk by reminding people to stay quit at night. Insted of being on a power trip demanding adults have a bed time, pretending you don't have discretion and choices yourselves on who and where you are actually creating the problem, bullying and then playing victim. Because the only thing your accomplishing every night is pissing people off. There is a better way. Weather your there or not trying to throw your authority around, people will go to bed. Example PD dont go into bars after 12am harassing people saying "times a coming guys! I'm going to close you down". You should only be keeping people from getting out of hand. Not causing it. Another fantastic idea is have an adult camping section where quiet time is 11pm and adults can go to bed when they choose! Instead of trying to take away people's freedom, especially on Memorial weekend! God bless and hope I never see any of you at Camp...

Disappointing Experience. Won’t Be Returning We had high hopes for this campground, but unfortunately, our experience was frustrating from the moment we arrived-and it didn’t get much better.

Campsites & Roads: The campsites are extremely narrow. Our camper barely fit in the space we were given, and there was no room left to park our vehicle on our site. We ended up having to park elsewhere. The “roads” shown on the map are just as tight. They are barely wide enough for a standard car, let alone a diesel truck. Maneuvering in and out was stressful to say the least.

Inconsistent Motorized Vehicle Policy: They claim that no motorized vehicles are allowed and strictly enforce this policy only for golf carts. We brought ours, and yes, that was on us. But the inconsistency is what really rubbed us the wrong way. There were HUNDREDS of people zooming around all weekend on electric bikes and scooters, many of them young kids, unsupervised, nearly crashing into us and others multiple times. Even using the walking path clearly marked no bikes or scooters. We were told five times in the first 10 minutes that our golf cart wasn’t allowed, but the rule was clearly not being applied fairly. If you're going to have a policy like that, enforce it for everyone!!!

Check-In Issues: We booked Thursday–Monday, but called ahead (about 10 days prior) to say we couldn’t arrive until Friday due to a sports conflict. The staff member we spoke to said that was totally fine, noted our account, and assured us there’d be no cancellation/no-show charge. But when we showed up at noon on Friday, they tried to charge us a $150 fee, and said we couldn’t check in until 3 PM. It set a bad tone for the entire weekend.

Staff Attitudes: Speaking of staff, maybe a quarter of them were kind and helpful. The rest were honestly rude. It was surprising and disappointing how little patience or professionalism some of them had.

Activities for Kids: To be fair, there is a lot to do for the kids. Ours enjoyed the pool, arcade, batting cages, and visiting the animals. But even that came with issues. The pools were packed and chaotic. There were so many drunk adults, and had to sit on the ground at one point because no chairs were available. Again, little supervision and very little control over the environment.

Lack of Supervision & Safety Concerns: One of the biggest concerns we had was the complete lack of adult supervision for many of the children there. Kids were running wild, at all hours of the day, doing whatever they pleased. Between that and the motorized scooters, it didn’t feel safe or relaxing.

Final Thoughts: All in all, our kids managed to enjoy parts of the weekend, but for us as parents, it was a frustrating and disappointing experience for how much of an investment this weekend was. We were celebrating a family birthday and tried to make the best of it, but the poor communication, lack of enforcement, cramped spaces, and rude staff left a bad taste that was hard to shake. We won’t...

This place caught us by surprise- the wife was looking for random spots for camping within a few hours drive and connected with Kamp Dels. No lie, with kids, this place is fabulous! Water park, large playgrounds, places for kids to ride bikes and be semi free to their own little world while having the adventure of camping in our pop up trailer will have a lasting memory on our 2x little 4yo boys minds. the eldest 9yo loved it as well only for the fact that the pool and the ice cream is so close together. There is an abondance of activities that the resort puts together, from arts and crafts, mini putt challenges and local hero visits- which what 4yo boy doesn't like climbing into a fire truck? Mini zoo for the kids to have a close peek at some animals and a natural people zoo with a wide variety of people watching/gawking just walking around from MN proper to different points of the 5 state region that kept the wife busy. We didn't have an extra interaction with the staff- the times that we did, everyone what pleasant/helpful to our inquiries. Common areas were clean/presentable (def had way worse at State/National Parks) - seems like upkeep is on the minds of the senior staff to make/keep us visitors happy which is appreciated especially with the amount of visitors/campers that are/were trampling about- honestly could not think of one time when the restroom near the pool look out of keep- the one nearest the larger basketball court (while there was a concert happening Sat evening) was immaculate. Having the internet was nice for the new generation of little ones while we were breaking between activities! Our camping neighbors appeared to have their first run at camping making good use of the Walmart in Waseca- which is good to know for us on future trips (just in case). Never made it into town as the site was comfortable enough not to venture out- hopefully when we come back with friends/family we can stop in for some grub/brews. We got in early evening Fri - i had a meal all planned out however the feeling of actually cooking slid from my mind when the exhaustion was brought on post unloading/setting up the pop up camper. Luckily, there is a place to eat on site AND the food was rather tasty. Since the wife booked- i found out later that the price range for camping spots is rather comfortable/affordable. Looking forward to coming back as you have a customer as long as we have kids in tow! This camp ground will be a place where we will tell our ten friends. We look forward to securing a clump of spots with our friends and family to have a larger camp experience or be back on the...
