This motel has got worse and worse over the years. I have been up to Washburn the last 20 years on hunting trips. It is way over priced for the quaility that you received . The rooms- The carpet in the hotel is 20 years overdue to be replaced. The beds need to be replaced. Painting everthing would be a great. The radiant heat needs replacing. The cover over the heating element hasn't been cleaned for a long time. Everything is dated. The towels and wash cloths were the only thing that appears to have been replacedin the last 20 years. We were there from Wednesday and left on Sunday. We put our signage to clean on the door at 7 Am Saturday. Becky the manager forgot to do it because she was busy. There were 3 rooms that were left open all day and night with the windows open that were in different levels of being cleaned. Of course the lights were left on also. A miter box was sitting outside by the front door for our entire stay in the rain. I believe Becky and her husband were remodeling their room. A ladder was left outside up against the building all of Saturday and was there when we left Sunday. When I called to make a reservation Becky didn't give me any confirmation number. She just told me I'm in the book. Without a confirmation number then there is no proof for the renter showing that they had a reservation. If there homeless people in Washburn stop by the Scotwood Motel, rooms will be left open with lights on and acess to come into the Motel. Free room to sleep in. Very sad. The Motel did not have many customers. I am very surprise that no one has done anything besides buying bathroom towels in 20 years. D.B....
Read moreJohn was a manager their. Randomly enough an old friend that I ran into. He ran the place very well. New manager's, same owner from what I understand is from Colorado Springs. New manager's were nice did above and beyond. Painting and rehabbing where they can. They will help their guests as much as possible. Wake up calls coffee I was extended stay working out of town. The place is clean and quiet. Walking distance to a restaurant and gas station. Few blocks down is the dollar store and grocery store. They seem to get some questionable travelers to which there was an attempted theft on my truck. I called the sherrifs so I could have a police report for my insurance. They just inquired about cameras ( to which there is none outside) within an hour I was instructed to vacate because " its bad for buisness" (per owner) and did not get a refund for my last few days that where pre paid. ( and I was getting a rate discount) I would grill out regularly and play my music outside. Never had one notice verbal complaint. There's not much to offer for hotels in this community. To which I may say I quite amazing. I met a lot of locals here during my stay whom invited me into their homes and personal activities. Overall the stay is good price is decent. Was an unfortunate incident could have been resolved better but...
Read moreWe had booked our room a week and a half in advance. We arrived to the hotel and the woman at the front desk told us we didn’t have anything booked with them. I’m sure she was under the influence because she kept twitching. We went outside to make phone calls and try to resolve the issue. Tried to come back inside the talk to her, come to find her outside on the tree. I had to call her down to speak to her and when she approached us she had a twig stuck to her hair and a little bag of white substance (yes, it is what you think) dropped on our feet and couldn’t even get her to understand we had booked our room there. We ended up getting a different...
