Just so everyone knows, as of this season (2014) this campground is under new ownership. They are in the process of installing sewer hook ups at each location. The new owners are very good people and are happy to help. My wife and I have been there twice this season and have enjoyed our stay there, looking forward to going back later this summer too, or getting a seasonal spot! The pool and the shower house aren't open yet. However, after the sewer is installed and inspected, I suspect that it will be a short time until that building is open again. This is a nice quiet campground, with friendly people around every turn. The owners alone make this a friendly place. It is a decent drive from our home but well worth it when we arrive. Also, it is within walking distance to the state park where there is the 145 acre lake! This is a big plus for me and my wife, we both love to canoe and kayak. I'd say if anyone has any questions or wants to see wha the park is like stop in and just say hi. When were there last time there were some wonderful lots available. The smallest lot looks about 20x30 but that's me just guessing. All in all, a wonderful atmosphere, and a great campground. I hope this sheds some light on this wonderful, charming...
Read moreI can't say enough about this park at this point. Friends of my wife and I moved to this park last summer. My wife and I went to visit and stay with them on 4 occassions throughout the summer. I met owner Cleo, and he seems to be quite an amazing person. We met and spent time with numerous other tennants of the park and our time with them was truly friendly as though you are family. This park has made an abundance of turn arounds from years ago when I was there, and I would say it is entirley due to the caring and proper management of Cleo as the new owner. In all truths, my wife and I just made a huge purchase in a brand new camper solely with the intention of becoming members to this park and the park families. Our intentions are to spend many years here growing with the park and enjoying everything the park life has to offer. I would strongly recomend this park to any camping family. I truly believe you will enjoy it to the utmost satisfaction. We hope to meet any newcomers as we will be this year. Enjoy your camping experience. Gary and...
Read moreThis campground has the potential to be a great place, but it has failed to do so. There are many friendly campers that occupy seasonal spots at Lakeside. Without these campers donating their time and money to organize activities there would be nothing to do. The playground has very little equipment, and what it has is old. The pool wasn't open this year, and who knows if it will be available next season.( They did add more concrete seating area around the pool this past month. ) There is a huge activities barn that was updated last season. It looks nice, but it wasn't used for anything this season. Maybe next season? The owner of this campground isn't much of a "people person". He dispenses lots of rules, but doesn't show much appreciation for his customers. I would only recommend this place to retired folks who spend most of their time at their own campsites. It is NOT a family...
