This applies to the Victorian Manor ONLY! Pictures on the website do not reflect the reality of disrepair and uncleanliness! We left after spending one unfortunate night:-( There are cobwebs and dead bugs EVERYWHERE you look. Flies came out of the disposer in the kitchen. There are broken or missing fixtures or bulbs all over the place. There is NO closet space to speak of and a lack of anywhere convenient to live out of your suitcase. We don't ask for much, but being able to hang up clothes, and some dresser surface is really essential. The master bedroom had no night stands for phones/glasses. Upstairs bedroom only had one night stand and no where convenient to plug in phones. The master bedroom bathroom had no light in the shower and sinks drained SLOWLY. Some of the provided towels were stained to the point where they couldn't be used (unless I was to change my oil with them). The beds were uncomfortable (we understand that this is subjective), and didn't have a mattress pad beneath the very thin sheets. There was torn wallpaper throughout. Bedspreads upstairs had a layer of dust on them. Window A/C units could BARELY keep the heat down despite being on full. Master bedroom and one bedroom upstairs never fully cooled down. Interior was cluttered with beds and other non-essential items almost as if it is used for storage. Exterior is in need of serious repair on siding, doors and windows. Exterior had been neglected with junk vehicles in clear sight. In summary, this unit has seen some HARD use and very little if anything has been done to remedy any of the problems.||We REALLY wanted to like this place, but it wasn't possible. Customer service is non-existent which is most frustrating. Emails, voicemails and texts went mostly unanswered. Certainly nothing less than 24 hour response time. Even in this complaint, they asked for a day to respond (which we granted) and they didn't get...
Read moreMy husband found this place to stay while we were back home visiting. Was looking for some place cheaper than the hotel we usually stay at. I read all the reviews about this place and they're all over place. There are signs on the main road directing you up the paved driveway. There's a building to the left half way up that could use some cleaning up. No main office, check in/out over the phone. Pond looked a little murky and it appeared people were living in the cottages around it as there was an RV parked next to them. Grounds need some maintenance and mowing, we saw a riding mower parked in some weeds near a lodge. Our cottage had a bay window but no deck out back. To walk around back to fire pit area you'd have to go through woods. Our neighbors for one night called for firewood that was promptly delivered. We stayed in 126 and the door was a bit difficult to open. Bathroom was big and jacuzzi was nice! Plenty of hot water, shampoo and soap. Towels made you feel at home with the colors. We paid extra for a kitchenette that was poorly stocked. Oven was dirty but couldn't use it because no pans. Had a saucepan and frypan and odd assortment of plates, silverware and glasses. Had microwave, sink and nice size fridge. Had a charcoal grill but no grilling utensils.Husband complained about TV being too small. Bed was comfy and sheets smelled freshly washed. Didn't hear our neighbors through the walls. There was a lot of furniture in this small space, some of it didn't make any sense and it really cluttered up the space. Elizabeth was nice and pleasant to deal with. This place has so much potential, I really hope it's on the upswing and not going downhill. Quiet country setting close to civilization. We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely...
