To sum up our 3 stars, it's based on our recent 1 night stay there. It's a beautiful drive to the campground thru green rolling hills out to the countryside. It's a large property split between RVs & permanent mobile home/RV sites. You can see -all- trees were originally cleared out and then some new (younger) trees were planted here & there (esp near the stationery sites). Tarhill Creek (the name according to the kids fishing on the dock) borders one side but no bank to reach it; just a small dock. The RV side are all open grass sites. The hookups with site # is the only way to tell each of them apart. Funny thing is some are huge & others are small. Although we told the employee when we checked in that we're (only) 2 retirees in our late 50s, we're assigned a site that -squeezes- us between 2 others full of noisy children. I walked the entire property and we could've easily been put on any number of spots further away with more room and less noise. Also, the nightly rate of over $50 was too high for all this. No discounts (and no fee reductions this season like we've received at several other resorts & campgrounds during this pandemic). We chose this one because it was right on our route from the last stop to the next and the nearby HH sites were full or hadn't called back. With no shade, no privacy, no peace & quiet and pricey rates, I doubt we'll return here altho we visit NC often. Final note: Female employees on phone and in person were very hospitable.

I do not recommend this place to outsiders such as campers, travel nurses and do not recommend staying in their cabins! I stayed in the cabin, #2 to be exact. The whole time we stayed there, my boyfriend was ate up with bed bugs. When we realized it, we decided to leave because the staff would not do nothing about it and did not seem to care. Also, the cabins seem to be for the residents family when they come to visit. They do not clean them after each stay from renters. So with that being said, if anything inside of the camp ground gets stolen or something gets damaged the staff will come to you and point fingers no matter what time of night or day it is. We were accused of washing our dogs in the wash house which I never used, PERIOD. I've never stayed at a place such as this and will never stay there again. They also kept our money for the last week we would have been there. Guess they needed that to clean and get rid of the bedbugs! Sorry sorry sorry campground.

The staff are very friendly. That's it for the positive. I don't like writing bad reviews but this one needs to be written. The "lifers" in this so called resort, which it is far from, are very rude and domineering. The pictures online are very nice but not at all indicative of what the reality is. The campsites are in the middle of a field, no trees, anywhere except along the river which are for all the "lifers". NO shade no grass just extreme heat and sun and sand. It was 95 - 100 degrees over memorial weekend. NO camper can stay cool in those temps in the beating sun and ours is brand new. While this may be fine for some it is not what those who like to make memories enjoy. The Kayaks for rent are barely worthy of the water and not even displayed on the rack with no information about the rentals. Just thrown about next to a dock about the size of an average dining room table. The pool is very small with just three umbrellas to claim and you must do so before the sun comes up or lose out. The store in the office is well, not much. It was a break from the heat to browse through it which took about 30 seconds. Honestly I don't know why it's listed as a resort. It's very misleading and I won't be back. I love the area just very disappointed in the false advertising. In closing it should be noted that the lots are large and have brand new utilities. Power and sewer are together but the water connections are on the wrong side. Bring a long hose for that. Also no internet/WiFi or cable tv service at these brand new sites. Sorry maybe it will get better...

Peaceful, pleasant, nature getaway spot that's very inexpensive. Enjoyed the little cabins several summers with a family of 6! Nice to be able to dip in the pool, play games in the arcade, go fishing off the dock or put your john boat in. Favorite time is always night time, making a fire, making s'mores with the kids, sitting around talking with the sounds of summer in the background...crickets, owls, and kids playing tag or hide n seek. Actually being kids and having fun outdoors. We always made our trips device free, and there's no TV in the cabin either. Feels like a vacation like the vacations us parents had as kids. Very refreshing. The cabins have screened in porches of nice size and a couple rocking chairs out. They're small but just big enough. Will definitely bring a family closer lol. It has a bunk bed, small shower, toilet, sink and counter top area, with a coffee maker, and best of all a freezing cold ac unit. It's a great place for young families in the Greenville area who just need a little get away. We know we aren't far from home, but the kids think they're on a full out vacation. Easily able to invite some family or friends that can pitch a tent right outside the cabin which is also right along the river. When our kids were smaller, they thought this was the best. Made lots of sweet, cherished memories. Its definitely good for keeping your family close. Even good for new parents who need a break and some time together just to get a breather. And home is just a hop and...
