Washington Motel — Hotel in Washington

I know in a small Kansas town there is not much choice for accomodations, but it really wouldn't take much to make this a better place. The furnishings were older, but most notably, the cleanliness of the rooms could be improved quite a bit. The air conditioner worked fine for me, but there was a mildewy smell coming from the unit. There were mold spots in the corners of the tub/shower. There was plenty of hot water. When they came to clean in the morning, it seems all they did was replace the towels. They did not have a vacuum with them and the carpet definitely needed vacuuming. My sister in another room felt the mirrors & tv had streaks & gunk on them that should have been cleaned but I didn't notice that in my room. The television was newer, there was a small fridge and microwave. I actually liked the feather pillows on the beds. There was free internet, but it was not of sufficient strength to actually be useful. The pool was empty. The family who runs the motel do have accents and can be a bit hard to understand on the phone, but in person the son was easy to deal with. Work on the cleanliness and this would be a perfectly...

I work with Hospitals so I asked staff which one was better. This one had internet. The other one didn't. I am actually in the hotel NOW. It's Clean, But Old, No odors and Nice hot water. Bath tub is very old, but big. The desk lady is East Indian, but very nice and speaks very little English. She knew enough English to take my money! The microwave and the fridge works. I don't watch TV so didn't even turn it on. I definitely can stay the week here. Don't expect a hotel like near the interstate. This little hotel is literally in very rural Kansas. Last night we stopped in a hurry to get out of the storm. We were very happy with our room. The owners were extremely pleasant and are nice people. We would highly recommend it to anyone passing through this area. The room we had was 107 and it has been completely renovated beautifully. You can tell the owners are hard-working people cuz the rooms were immaculately cleaned and they're nice and spacious as well. Next time we pass through that area we will definitely be stopping in. I keep getting reminded that just because the buildings have been around for a while does not mean that they are not really nice inside. Take a look...
