American Motor Lodge — Hotel in Waterbury

Anyone that has read my reviews knows I tend to be more accepting than negative. I give kudos when due. That being said, I had to take time and steps to get this 'place' on Tripadvisor. And I felt it was necessary to do so as I have never experienced such filth, terrible customer service or building conditions in a paid stay before. ||||Arrived at 9:30 PM and was given the $69/night rate. Awesome. Went to our room, wasn't cleaned... or cleaned to American Motor Lodge Waterbury standards. For 69 bucks we stayed, and giggled as we checked out the filth. Dirty toilet, black fingerprints on everything in the bathroom, an ice bucket with surface mold and cracked bottom (along with a bag inside to make it usable. ||||We called for the wifi password and the attendant muttered 'motel' and hung up on my g/f. When it didn't work I called, he said the same thing and hung up. I walked down to the office just to find out it was 'motor'. ||||As I said, we stayed. We had a place to sleep, internet and an apprehensive shower for 70 dollars. Included was a bit of comedy and a chance to inform others what this place was all about.||||We left at 9 AM the next morning and when I was checking out there was a fellow in the lobby asking if he could have my key as we still had a couple hours left before checkout. ||||This motel is run by a family from East India who are just doing what they have to to make a buck. The accent is what gave us out wifi code error and that's understandable, however his manner in which he acted was not. They should be grateful for anyone that gives them any money at all. This place is awful stayed her for 6 months after a house fire we had two different rooms 1rst room infested with bedbugs so the move is next door like that room wouldn't have bed bugs! There's mold everywhere holes in bathroom doors blood stains on counter in bathroom. And the day before we left cause our apartment was ready there was a dead body and police left the window opened to the room and the smell lingered in the air for 24 hours! When we left I was harassed and accused of stealing sheets and pillows and comforters I brought my own of those items to the hotel and turned in hotels property the 2nd day there as everything was burned dirty and smelly! But of course housekeeping would lie and say we didn't when they told us to put it by the door. The whole time we were there housekeeping cleaned 1 time and complained about it when we moved rooms from the bedbug room to next room over housekeeping knocked on my door and made my children go clean the room that was messy when we arrived I literally found someone else's bra on the head board DO NOT STAY THERE IF YOU CAN STAY ELSEWHERE! I called to get information from the front desk, I spoke with a man with a Indian accent, it was as if I was speaking to a rude teenage kid. he had no customer service at all, I called the first time to retrieve information about pricing and he hung up on me the second time I called to try and get information about pricing and if I can pay over the phone ext. I literally had to rush the conversation asking him how much it was a night and if I can pay over the phone, he did answer my questions but after every question I asked he just wanted to hang up , not bothering to ask if I needed anything else. Not sure who the owners are to this facility but they seriously need to train there employers rather than it seemed as if they aredesperate to just hire anyone.
