This hotel has some pros and a good number of cons. The Pros: Friendly staff, quiet environment, decent rooms, fair pricing for the area (within 250$ [one month] of The Roosevelt). The cons: standing water in upper floor bathrooms--smell permeated to the first floor; during the harsh North Dakota winter the hot water went out; the internet was out for the entirety of my stay (1 month and a week) with varying and different reasons given as to why each time I asked; had to shovel my own way into the hotel more than once during the winter (after working 16 hour shifts at work); breakfast was not made due to management's orders to not make breakfast if less than three guests were staying in the hotel (to keep costs down, according to staff); on nights when the owner/manager stayed at the hotel the main entrance was locked and side entrances had to be used--causing some planning regarding parking if you needed to leave before she awoke; workout/exercise room was empty aside from the supplies left behind by the contractors who had stopped working due to non-payment (according to the staff)--same could be said of the upper floors; the hotel's supplies often ran short and employees were providing them out of their own pockets--either due to negligence or neglect on the owner's part; I fixed more issues at this hotel on my days off than I care to admit.
Tl;dr: If all you need is a bed for the night, this place has it. If you want a place that has some amenities, and creature comforts,...
Read moreCan I give this place no stars? Because that is what it deserves. I stayed there twice for a week, each time in one month, and each time cops were banging on doors trying to get people out of their rooms in the wee hours of the morning. Better yet, an attempted homicide occurred, and staff did not reassure safety. When I called the front desk after I heard about ten shots fired and noticed cops outside with assault rifles, they said, I don't know anything except we have reports of gunshots. Not once did anyone ensure we felt safe, refunded that night, or any other measures. The hotel locked the side entrances the next day; however, when I walked through the lobby, no one was at the front desk or in sight. The next night after the attempted homicide, cops were at the hotel again banging on a door to remove someone from the premises. If you value your life, do not stay there. Besides the homicide, I found hair in the shower that was not mine, and it sounded like parties were going on all night. They do not care about the safety of their...

(It did not remain working)
2 ME: Will the rooms be cleaned every day, or only on certain days????
STAFF: Every day. Unless you work at night. Then, staff will clean your rooms a little later by 3 or 4.
ME: Okay. Then, jot it down that I am a day sleeper.
STAFF. Okay. It notated.
(Housekeeping still Knocks everyday by 11:00)
3 ME: Does housekeeping give you time to reach and answer the door before walking in????
STAFF: Yes. Housekeeping Knocks and if nobody answers, they knock again. If still nobody answers, they'll then enter the room to clean.
(Housekeeping Knocks once, and before I can even stand up from the bed to go answer the door, the knob is jiggling.) Good thing I set the deadbolt. Otherwise, housekeeping would walk in on...
