Luxury Inn — Hotel in Watkinsville

Do not book this room, do not stay here, they are the rudest people ever, we booked a room and had to cancel the room due to a funeral, the room booked was refundable and it never said on the website: travelocity that there was a 3 day cancellation policy, all it said was FREE CANCELLATION and REFUNDABLE, what a crock, they don't stand by there policies, and like I said nowhere did it say a 3 day cancellation policy, which is BS, it's either refundable or not!!! The HOTEL is charging us $54.00 anyway and then I said well we will just stay in the room since you are going to charge us, and the MANAGER of the hotel Said NO, we can't do that either, that is the worst customer service I have ever dealt with, and in no way did he try to help us, he didn't care, so it's all about the bottom line, MONEY, not the CUSTOMER, I am so pissed right now, my daughter booked the room and she cannot afford this at all, I suggested to speak with the owner, he said he was not there and would not be back until Feb................., I ask for the owner's # and he refused to give me that, that is BS, the Manager didn't try to help me at all, so my daughter is out $54, That might not be a lot of money to some, but it is to us, why would anyone stay somewhere where they are so rude..............................I tried to reason with the manager and then I realized it didn't matter because he did not care about...

We happened to find this hotel through the internet because all other hotels in the Athens, GA area were already booked. Because of the reviews that we found online about this place we were expecting a complete dump, but were pleasantly suprised. The inside of the rooms are better than what the exterior potrays it to be. It is not a five star but it is comfortable with ammenities that you would find in any other hotel and it is spacious. The owner of the hotel was extremely helpful. The taxi ride to Athens alone was $60 but he took it upon himself to drive us there. The entire staff was very accomodating to any needs that we had. They kick families out, they don't keep the place very clean, their wifi sucks, doesn't hardly work at all. Their plumbing is always messed up for example, some friends of ours had a blocked up toilet and sink and it took them over a week to fix it and their dumpster is always nasty and dumpy. And they love threatin cops on people, saw that several times while my family was there . My family don't go their no more. They allow dogs but are scared to death of them.
